I am enjoying the game. It isn’t so difficult that I cannot get through the dungeons and I am enjoying collecting loot. The ads aren’t obnoxious but I did end up getting the $1.99 starter pack to end the ads. I feel like it isn’t one of those “pay to play” type games but I can spend if I want. All in all, I am having fun and that’s why I game;) So far it’s a great game. I am hoping that while looting- I do find more vials to level the heroes up- the only place I’ve found extra is in the store. Other than this- no complaints.
Misses the Boat for two key reasons
The style of this game is great. The aesthetics, movement, audio, all great. This game falls way short for two very important reasons for this genre. First, a looting game where you collect currency should ALWAYS allow you to buy gear. Pretty much the number one reason for playing looting games is to spend all that shiny gold you just acquired. Not just open chests and get drops. And definitely not to spend real money on gems to use the shop to get gear. I can’t use my gold in the shop? Really? So you go in a dungeon, kill all the monsters, find some gold, go back to town, go to the merchant and they say “woah woah woah, gold? We only take gems here! You’re gold is no good.” …What? Second, gear appearance should be tied to your sprite. Paid skins are fine, but the second most important aspect to a looting game is being able to see your characters upgrades as you progress.
Needs improvement
Update: Version 1.9 - Avoid this game at least until the next update! I lost around 1000 hero shards after updating. In addition, each time I open the game I lose all hero shards I gained the previous play session.
I am having a good time but there are still improvements that need to be made. First, fire damage needs to be reduced. My level 15 guy can die on a level 3 area in a couple seconds from a fire trap. Also, enemy bombs seem to do a massive amount of damage (maybe they are fire damage?). Second, poison should not last forever. Make it last a while, fine, but it should not be a guaranteed death if you don’t have an antidote. Third, the “smart auto play” is not very smart at all. It does not avoid traps nor does it use abilities very wisely. Fourth, some purchased items do not show up right away. I had to restart the game to get them and I am not sure they are all there. With some minor work this could be a real gem.
