I love the features of this TelePrompTer. I would give it five stars if it would allow you to paste text into it or import text from a document. It is a bit of a drag to have to type every word of a script that you already have in a digital form.
Thanks for the free teleprompter app, but...
This app is great for el-cheapo videographers like me that can't afford a teleprompter, clapper/slate, and all that other video stuff. A little problem I am having is when I stop the scroll and try to finger scroll to any particular location. It moves too fast and seems to only work when finger scrolling at the top and bottom edges of the screen, in landscape mode. That is the only issue I am having really. It would be nice if the text highlighted when in the center of the screen, but hey, what do you want for free? Now I need to figure out how to control my Ipad dv Prompter with my Iphone dv Prompter as a wireless remote, just like Keynote remote. I didn't see any wireless remote on your website, but maybe it's too new. Also would like to see this app work stand alone for practicing reasons, using the devices camera and microphone, just like the pricey prompter apps. Also a video playback feature would be amazing, maybe in the background with the prompter text overlaying the video image. Sort of like video conferencing with closed captioning.
This is a great app guys. Will probably be looking into your hardware when I start to make a little money at this stuff.
I was looking fir a cheap (free) prompter for lyrics at a live gig. so far so good. since I'd already loaded all my lyrics to another free app, all I had to do was copy the lyrics into dv prompter and then via trial and error adjust the timing of the scrolling and the content so that the lyrics keep up with the music "karaoke" style.
Apparently the scroll speed setting is not selectable per doc, so I'm struggling with the difference between a fast song and a slow song, but I expect to work that out by tomorrow night, which is my next gig.
I'm probably stretching the technology a bit here, but it's free and I haven't had to purchase a remote.
There do seem to be a couple of problems. I should be able stop it while it's running, scroll it by hand, and then start it again but that feature doesn't appear to work. I've also noticed that I often have to exit the app to load another doc, which is a pain in the ...!
Instruction are nearly non-existent, but what the heck, it's free.
All in all for most uses I'd say it's a pretty fine product.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
