DVDpedia is a movie cataloging application that retrieves all information about your movies from the Internet via keyword or UPC scan, so you have time for more important things like watching movies.
Accessing several international movie sites, including Doghouse, the program's own media server, DVDpedia lets you retrieve information for DVD, Blu-Ray and VHS. To search, enter keyword combinations - movie title, director, actor, studio, etc. - or scan the UPC and let DVDpedia do the rest.
Create smart collections and start a wish list for those movies you don't own yet and a borrowed collection for those you want back. View your entries as a standard list, browse only the covers or use the info view for a personalized look of DVDpedia. Share your collection with friends using the customizable HTML export templates and learn more about your own collection with the Statistics feature. DVDpedia comes with full Spotlight integration.
Big Sur interface updates.

If I am wrong, I will apologize
I wasted my money on this. Its great to have all this information about each item. However, it is useless unless you can find the item. I have found no means to input a location, numbering, or some other way lo locate the desired item. With several thousand items, that is a major concern, and really the only reason I purchased this app.I have recently migrated from windows to Apple OS and of course cannot use Ant Movie List, which I have used for a very long time. As yet I have been unable to import my files to any degree of satisfaction. If anyone has a solution, I am open to suggestions.
Update: My apology, I spoke a bit too soon. After receiving some advice from the developer, I have since managed to import my files from Ant Movie Catalog, clean up a few errors and complete a backup. After learning more about the app, I would certainly recommend it. I will say though that it can be a bit intimidating at first.
Thanks to the developer for the opportunity make amends for a bad review.
Developer Response ,
We'd love to help you get over any hurdles you might have encountered with DVDpedia. Just email us at our Bruji support mail and we'll be happy to answer any and all questions you might have.
To input a location - you mean you're looking for a field to enter the physical location of the movie in your house/on a shelf? If so, that'd be the field "Location". Or there's "Collection ID" which is where you can enter an ID number or letter for each entry. (Or, if you prefer, have the program assign an ID automatically for each new entry.)
Doesn’t Do Anything.
Doesn’t work like previous versions. Can’t import from iTunes. Stinks. Demanding a refund.

Best option I’ve found on the Mac
After seeing the tiny number of reviews, most of them poor, I realized I should leave one. Moved to DVDPedia after Delicious Library moved to version 2 (which was an absolute mess). Tried every option I could find, and settled on this. I’ve been using it for over 5 years now, and it’s a decent organizing and library tool. Helps keep several thousand titles (including my ancient laserdiscs!) findable.
