DVR.Webcam: iCloud Edition is a cloud-based DVR (digital video recorder) app that uses Apple's iCloud Drive as its cloud storage. The app turns your mac into a cloud-based surveillance tool.
The app supports the built-in cameras on the computer, as well as IP cameras on your network.
The app automatically records camera’s video (in the case of built-in camera, audio as well) and streams it over to your personal iCloud account. You can define X number of days to keep the DVR recordings in the cloud, and the software will automatically manage the storage for you.
You can view your DVR recordings stored on iCloud within the app itself. You can even view live recording remotely from another computer or device using a web browser.
For example, you can record your mac's camera at home, and remotely view it on your iOS device when you are away. The app helps you keep an eye on what's happening at home. Better yet, you will have the recorded evidence should anything happens.
There is no need to configure firewall or router for remote viewing. Recording is secured within iCloud, and therefore it is still available even if your device is stolen.
The free app supports up to 8 hours of DVR recording. Unlimited recording can be upgraded via in app purchase.

I think that this app has been abandoned. There is no response from support and the app doesn't work as described. I also cannot restore a previous purchase so don't waste your time and certainly not your money.
Great idea, good start
A few oddities . . . the iCloud version stores your video in iCloud but calls it "one drive” there. I do not get whey there are so many versions of this app, there should just be one version and a selection for where you want your storage (iCloud, dropbox, one drive . . . ). No reason for mutliple apps, just makes it hard to change your storage location. And I can find no way to remove your Mac factime camera. I do not want that camera on. It seems to be all or nothing for the cameras. The UI is also a bit rough. But this is a very cool concept, and this is a good start. Use YOUR cloud storage, have your recordings in the cloud for viewing and retrieval, but under your security and with no fees. This app is a good start to a great idea.
Would be useful if it didn’t crash all the time
I bought this app to monitor my hotel room when I’m on business travel. This app is useless if it crashes all of the time and doesn’t record any video. I regret buying the Unlimited recording version, considering that the app just is completely useless if it can’t stay running long enough to record. It’s also a bit worrisome when the last update was in Jan 2016, and it’s now Nov 2016.
