Description

This dynamic simulation of a SAG and two ball mills simulates the grinding process of one SAG Mill follwed by two ball mills with a sump, pump and a battery of hydrocyclones. Comminution uses represent 70% of operating Costs in these Grinding Systems

It is interesting to see the effect of the design parameters, kinetics of grinding, separation efficiency and the effect of the sump/pump in the overall optimization of the circuit. These circuits consume large amount of energy. They need to operate at high effectiveness in terms of equipment availability, energy efficiency and water consumption. The water is used to manipulate the trasportation (realogy) of the mills and classification process (particle classification) in hydrocyclone. The grinding process is required to liberate the metal minerals from the gangue prior to flotation or hydrometallurgical processes.
