Custom Cassettes Needed
The app in general is very good, but why aren't at least all of the Shimano cassettes included, not just Ultegra and DA? Quite annoying that I must choose an option that's "close enough" to the 11-34 I have. How hard can this be? 30 minutes (I'm being gracious here, might take 5 minutes) of coding and a day of regression testing? Come on, guys. 🙄
Allow to connect to Apple Watch Workouts
I use this app to update the Shimano components on my MTB, and to make power adjustments. It works well for that, however I would like to see integration for Apple Watch Workouts pushed to my bike. With watchOS one can connect via Bluetooth to “health devices” under Settings>Bluetooth>Health Devices, but my MTB does not show up. It would be sweet if this integration was added so it would link to outdoor cycle workout, and so all of my exercise info is in one place - the Health app on iOS.
Works as advertised
A login to Shimano is required; the app won’t work if you skip this step. Every subsequent connection will require the Bluetooth to be enabled by pressing the button on the bike. Once those rules are followed, the app works well. I was able to change to semi-synchronized shifting on the first use after login. That’s a very useful feature that I didn’t know existed!
