Ease Fax: Pay as you go fax 4+

I've used a few of these fax apps now. The one I used and loved now is subscription only, which is riduculous when I only fax when I have to communicate with the 1980's. Ease Fax is nice, it works when I need it, and I can just pay for whatever amount of pages I need to fax, not some huge package. Only drawback is it's a little slow, but fax machines are slow as snails, so that's not really a fault of the app when a real fax machine is one the receiving end. Also, as one who lived in the era of fax machines, they can only receive one fax at a time. Not a limit of this app at all, it's a limit of the old fax technology itself. Highly recommend this app. And thank you to the creators for making it work well and not being too greedy on pricing.

Like most other reviewers here, I only need to fax occasionally and no longer have a "landline" at home to attach a fax machine or my computer to. The app installed easily and launched with an intuitive interface - no real instructions required.

Fax transmission times take longer than you would think they should but only once have I run into a failed send. When you have a lot of documents or lots of pages to send, then this may not be the ideal solution but it is ideal for the occasional sender. I wish that current credit balance was a little easier to find / see. The Developer appears to respond directly and quickly to all reviews and I assume does the same with support requests. Overall, a good buy and reliable.

I selected this app because it was one of the few with a fairly substantial user base and that does not require a subscription. It is a pay as you go application with per page costs that are under a dollar.

The user interface is very basic, and that is not a bad thing.

One useful improvement that would be nice to see is a progress report of pages as they are sent. Currently one simply sees a spinning icon on the status page until the fax completes. With some apps that hang offering the same kind of feedback, it would be nice to know that the app is not hung. Faxes do complete, but seem to take a while to do so. Additional status would help build confidence that everything is proceeding.
