  • excellent app overall

in terms of simplicity and functionality, this app is excellent. i like how it will automatically find the nearest BART station to your current location which is most times convenient. i think that paying an extra 2 dollars is worth getting rid of the ads and making it more customizable to your needs. now that it offers real time departures i really can't complain. the only thing i would like is to provide all departure/arrival times onto one list/page rather than having to swipe through them. otherwise this is probably the best app to use for BART.

  • This app was 5 stars…

The app had a great run, and I used it without issue for many years. Alas, the Easy Bart app has finally been deprecated, it appears that both the “schedule trip” feature and the “real time departure” feature are not working. I just showed up to a Bart station, and this app said a train was departing, but there wasn’t one, and upon checking the Bart website, the train had been cancelled. Goodbye easy Bart app, you will be missed!UPDATE! - even though the real-time departures don’t work anymore and they haven’t added the new San Jose station, I find myself still using the app because the map feature is so clutch. Solid app, I hope they update it!

  • Excellent, but slightly disorienting at first

EDIT: The notifications on this app are the least annoying I've ever had the pleasure of encountering. This app deserves 5 stars for that alone. First, let me just say this app is amazing for a single developer effort. You can tell the creator is very passionate about making BART scheduling easier for everyone. There is a slight information overload at first, but if you focus on search and favorites, you're golden. Once you spend a minute or two adjusting, it's an excellent app. Highly recommended.

  • Used to be great, what happened?

This app used to be very dependable and deserving 5 stars in my opinion. However, for the last couple months or so, it has been woefully unreliable. The real-time departure info is THE reason I got this app, but that info has become unreliable. For example, during this morning’s commute from Concord to SF, the app indicated my train was 5 minutes away when it was actually about 2. When I got on the train (after running after seeing it coming, I might add), the app said it was still 3 minutes away. Please fix. Or, I will certainly look for an alternative.

    Developer Response

Hi apersoninusa - appreciate the feedback. This has been frustrating on the developer side as well. Easy BART uses a passthrough mechanism, which means it requests real-time departures directly from the BART's servers and delivers them to you (the user) unaltered. With the launch of their own official app, they changed the long-running staff responsible for maintaining their system which serves 3rd party developers. Unfortunately as they've performed migrations and system upgrades their data has occasionally been out-of-sync. Please hang in there, as it seems to be improving. Thanks again for using Easy BART!

  • Misleading/false info

Displays only showed Berryessa and Dublin trains. I needed Antioch or Richmond so got on a train to Dublin thinking I’d check the app and worst case transfer at Lake Merritt. App said there was a Richmond train two minutes behind what I was on—according to schedule AND “real time departures” so I got off at West Oakland and waited. No Richmond train on the display. After three minutes I check the app and it shows a Richmond train in 15 minutes. Still no Richmond train on the display and no advisories about discontinued trains/service anywhere. No way to message anyone via the app or ask what happened. Thanks for screwing my commute.

  • Extremely useful and quick

I use Easy BART every day to get live departure times, almost 100% exclusively from the Today widget. My only requests are information about # of cars in each train as well as an Apple Watch app (glance especially!).Update 3/23: excellent additions of 3D Touch shortcuts and a tappable Today extension. Great to be able to get details. Still the best BART app available!
