School Administrator.

I have been using this app for the last eight months and have lost 30 pounds!!! I’ve was overweight for a long time and tried to lose weight on my own, but only had limited success (10lbs). A Recent check up and bloodwork revealed that I was prediabetic and my doctor told me to lose more weight. Prior to using this app losing weight was a complex process of eliminating certain foods(carbs) and adhering to very restrictive diets. This app is easy to use and helps you monitor your daily servings so that you don’t over eat and also prompts you to eat throughout the day so that you stay full and have less cravings. Going long periods of time without eating and then overeating with unhealthy foods was a pitfall for me. The app also prompts you to exercise regularly and keeps track of your weekly minutes. As a school administrator and a dad with a busy after school schedule, the app reminded me to fit in some exercise throughout the week. I also learned that moderate exercise was better and I didn’t need to do very strenuous workouts. Overall list app made weight-loss very doable for me and the coaching component kept me on track. It motivated me to stay on track and do the exercises when I was overwhelmed with work, kids, etc. I would recommend anyone who is prediabetic and needs to lose weight to give this app a try.

Time to take care of myself

This program has helped me chart what I eat and the servings. Learning to measure and weigh each type of food I eat has been helpful. It has been frustrating though trying to figure out how much a serving size is of many foods. I would like to see that somewhere in the program. Your serving sizes are not the serving sizes on a label for instance.
I like the ease of entering each meal on the app. Not having to list everything but just the amount makes it easy. It’s also easy to check off your exercise time but I wish you could have more than 4 options on the app. You can change it on the computer but that’s inconvenient.
I would also like to see a water or fluid serving section to help keep track of how many oz. a day to drink.
I think the program is a very good tool but just needs a few tweaks

Terrible.

It's not user friendly. You can't use the app to track macronutrients or calories. You can't input your own exercise. You can't create meals. It only wants to know how many servings of milk, fats, vegetables, starches, sweets, meat and fruit you eat as if all foods within those categories have the same impact on my blood sugar. Will broccoli spike my blood sugar the same way corn does? Sweet potatoes and white potatoes have different amounts of carbs and sugars per serving. Why would they both count the same?

Developer Response ,

Our patent pending Type II Diabetes Prevention Module includes a web app and companion mobile app. The Web app is dedicated to user education and follows the CDC Diabetes Prevention T2 Program. The mobile app serves as an electronic diary and virtual coach. Upon enrollment, each user is provided web app and mobile app access. Starchy vegetables are discussed in detail in the web app educational sessions. If the user only employs the mobile app and skips the educational aspects of the program these points will be missed.

To assure that all users regularly complete educational components at the web app, mobile notifications have been added to remind the user to complete educational sessions. This assures users do not miss important educational information like starchy veggies.
