Update. The recent app update enabled this scheduling

I was also able to get support from their support team. When calling in select wifi connection issues to connect to the heat pump water heater support team and econet app support team even if your unit is connected to wifi..it's the only way to reach them.

One of the reasons I chose this my ruud water heater was to enable time of use scheduling to hear water warmer during low energy times. Their app doesn't even have the feature. The app support link in the Apple store is missing and emailing their support team from their advertised website...got no response. The parts of the app that exist work well. But ultimately they are falsely advertising their products (ruud and rheem, they use the same app)

This app is mostly useless. Anytime it gets disconnected form the router, which is anytime the router reboots, it is a long process to reconnect. I will not reconnect directly using the phone app. Per instructions from the help desk, I need to connect first to the controller with a laptop. After that process is completed, I can then attempt to connect with the phone app. That works sometimes. Then the next time I look at the app, I will see that it has once again disconnected and the process starts again. I have pretty much never been able to actually use the app since the water heater was new.

Update:
After posting this review, Rheem Econet support reached out for me to contact them. I did so and they sent a new controller for my water heater. After a dozen attempts to connect to the new controller, with no luck, I called on support again. After numerous failed attempts with her, we finally were able to connect using an alternate method. The real test was now to see if it would reconnect after a WIFI shut down, which the previous unit would not do. It worked! I finally can use this app to control my water heater.

Ever since last update the app has not worked properly. I am finding my self lost connection from phone to app and water heater. I cannot make my house water heater turn on or adjust while I am away from home. If I am home and I am trying to increase or decrease temperature it will not work and tells me it has lost connection to network! I my self have to go to my main electrical panel and shut off the water heater wait for 30 to 60 seconds and reset and restart the water heater and the system resets itself. This happens now every 2 or 3 days after a hard reset to the system. And for a day or two maybe 3 system connects back to WiFi and works perfect. After a certain amount of time or days network connection to my WiFi and or app is lost and I have to manually shut the water heater along with the WiFi hub that is attached to the water heater to reset or hard reset so I can gain the functionality back on my phone app.
