- We've made initial setup and adding equipment easier by adding a pop-up on the WiFi settings screen to quickly return to the EcoNet app.
- Now you can clear all alerts with just one tap of your finger. Look for the trash can icon at the top left on the Alert screen.
- We occasionally ask for a review of the EcoNet app, because we truly want to know what our users have to say. With this release we're giving you the option to say "no, thanks" to reviewing the app and we'll stop asking.

Decent at best
Coming from a Nest thermostat, it’s hard not to compare the two but it’s a night and day difference. The schedule for the EcoNet is by far the worse and if you change the thermostat manually and then update your schedule to reflect that change it won’t recognize what you’re trying to do and will revert back to whatever temperature it was set before that, super inconvenient if trying to utilize the schedule feature.
Another feature I was trying to figure out is how to add additional users and ended up giving up just to call the support line and found out that you cannot add additional users to control the thermostat from the app. This is also a pretty huge inconvenience because even if you share your credentials for the account, the app will kick you off from the other devices it was logged into. Definitely would recommend y’all to either allow multiple logins from other devices for the user or add the feature for multiple users ASAP.
On a better note, the app is still functional as others have mentioned and I had a pleasant experience with their support line. The agent I talked to answered my question as if it’s been before and I’m assuming she has, but she told me it’s something that is currently (and hopefully) in work.
This Apps could be better
First off the apps requires a strong Wifi connection, even having a single bar Wifi strength will not complete the connection stage. My home is concrete cement so the heater is in a dead spot, I had to setup a dedicated Wifi AP via power link adapters in the garage for the heater to register with the apps. Also when the appliance loses Wifi connection with EcoNet it will wipe the existence of the appliance from its memory & require to add it in again when connection is re-established. This means all data that was entered & usage history are erased! The ability to remotely monitor the current temperature, setup heating schedules, and appliance health is great! I wish this app could provide more information on appliance’s health (e.g. amps/volts, heating element resistance, etc.) Also have the apps do scheduled checks of the appliance’s current condition & send a text. I can understand why this apps will allow only one user to be registered (security) but it needs a device manager for user authorization, for even changing devices can cause the apps to disconnect from the appliance and do a memory wipe. Also the ability to download the usage history from the apps to a user website account would be good option. Overall this apps has potential just needs much further improvement.
Suggestions and Concerns
I have used this WiFi module and app for multiple years. I am not a power user but do try to use it for alerts and general temperature monitoring.
I do lose the communication sync despite having full WiFi bars and a fast, stable internet provider. I wish the software would be upgraded to maintain the link.
Secondly, I would like to see the addition of a red dot on the app icon when there is an alert. Currently, I have to constantly open the app to see if there is a problem. I would like to just look at the app face and be able to see that I need to investigate.
Thirdly, despite having complete and valid contact information in the app, I have never received a text/email notification of app alert of any type. I would hope that the app would alert me when an issue appears. If there is no alert, it is just luck whether I see a problem from within the app.
In short, it needs more stable WiFi linking software and better notification of alerts. I have not explored the scheduling options. I use the app on a single gas water heater.
I hope the company will see this review and respond with comments so that we can know that our voices are being heard.
