Eerie Worlds 9+

Bare bones game with scary potential

Obligatory “I don’t write reviews”, because it’s true. But this game has the potential to be something I’ve been doing for, a horror-based rpg/gacha. The art is fantastic, and the lore on each of the cards is fascinating as well. I read every one - not something I typically do in these games. My biggest gripe right now, as someone who isn’t much into “pvp”, and only mildly into “TCG”, is a lack of a more single-player focused aspect. If the devs can work in some kind of story mode, around the a agency/rift angle, I would be ecstatic. I don’t know what the financial status of this team is, so I don’t know if that’s likely, but I’ll throw a few bones at them and hope for the best. I think there is a strong dedicated market that this game could appeal to, given a bit more breadth of gameplay. It’s new, though, so I’ll wait and keep pulling cards until then!

The Problems with this game:

While I do love the fact that the CUE team is trying to branch out and try new things, practically making the same game with little changes doesn’t really make me want to play this game as CUE Player. However, I can push past that as the game can be fun and the concept is there…However, what really drives me to two starring this game is the art style and direction. First and foremost, all the assets look like they were compiled into an AI generator, even the card art and that makes me a little uncomfortable considering how CUE does everything and seems to make the cards phenomenally well, especially with the feedback of fans. But, this art style is just not doing it for me and looking at it still, i feel like their can be a much greater way to show the folklore monsters and myths without the AI generated looking card art and more. Another problem I have with this game is that, like some of what the reviews might tell you, it is in desperate need for something to give it flavor to the game other than battling players over and over again until you reach the top in the leaderboards. Honestly, if this didn’t feel rushed and had a little more effort put in, I can see this being an another game for people who enjoy CUE. But, as it stands, a 4/10 or 2 stars is all i can give it at the moment.

Just so were being as transparent as possible: the art is created with Photoshop, compositing images, painting and Ai Generated art as the foundation. Our amazing technical artist refines all the imagery to capture each subject based of the card descriptions through various technical processes, to ensure a thematically consistent style!👍

Yes we're currently exploring a few ways that we can deliver on that, we really want to weave the narrative into the game. We are in our early access phase still, so it's definitely worth staying tuned as we'll be releasing content frequently!

need solo battles

I enjoy playing online alot i just wish there was also a story mode or offline events that you could play to possibly earn exclusive cards by playing solo, playing only online is fun it just eventually gets me burnt out
