eFax App–Send Fax from iPhone ٤+

I signed up for a free account so I could fax some tax documents to the IRS without having to leave my house. Easy-peasy-lemon-squeezey. Well, kinda. I had more issues combining my document into 1 PDF than I had sending the fax. But I pay for the Adobe suite so once I got it sorted out it was relatively painless from there.

FYI -Sign up via iTunes for an easier cancellation process. If you sign up via iTunes, you can cancel in the App Store, but, if you sign up via a computer/website, you have to call their hotline to cancel. That’s a big NOPE from me. I think it’s grimey to not let you cancel the same way you sign up. Pretty sure it’s illegal in some places to require a phone call for cancellation, but I probably just made that up because it should be a law everywhere.

P.S. Don’t forget to cancel your subscription once you receive confirmation of receipt.

I attempted to use the app and it will not send any of the attachments added to the fax. Just the cover page. I call customer service and told them the situation— I have attached 8 pages, however, it is only sending ONE page, the cover sheet. He goes through my file and takes a look at the account. He then proceeds to let me know that “everything is working fine, I see here that the fax went through perfectly”. Confused, I ask “wait, how many pages?”, he says “one”. Seriously. Was this guy not hearing my complaint in the first place? JUST THE COVER SHEET IS SENDING, I AM NOT ALL SET. I ended up thanking him and told him I would figure it out on my own. I then attempted to use the online portal to send a fax instead of the app— DIDNT WORK EITHER.

Edit: I got a notification from my bank that I was overdraft in my account due to charges from this app. Although I was on a free trial basis, I was charged SEVERAL TIMES, for several failed attempts at faxing. I called customer service a total of 3 times in one day. Come to find out, I was charged back to back to back for faxes that hadn’t even gone through. I really wanted to like the app but it’s a HARD PASS. I’ve already unsubscribed. The only positive thing I have to say is that they are willing to refund me. Haven’t seen it come back yet but I will stay in touch with them to make sure I get my refund.

I am actually shocked how terrible the performance of this app has been. It pretended or pathetically sent the very first fax and I believed it was actually sent back when I installed the app initially, but when I went in today to start sending some EXTREMELY important documentation for an important claim, I saw that fax had actually failed and I was not notified or aware even with notifications enabled.

I sent a fax at about 1730 yesterday and when I tried to send an additional text a bit ago for my important claim, I looked back at sent faxes and saw that it sent, but it converted the document I was sending so poorly that it wiped out bottom of several pages of the fax such that portions at the bottom were completely missing and several pages where missing entire sections in weird shaped section in the middle or somewhere around the middle of several pages. I am appalled that this is the performance on their "Plus" premium service and I am grateful that I am only on the trial version. I will DEFINITELY not being purchasing a subscription of this obviously garbage app. The fact that it so profoundly failed to send an incredibly important set of documents that indicates that it is not trustworthy in its performance. I cannot believe the rating is so high.
