Description

Need to learn triad chords? Need to learn which triads belong to each scale? Need to find the most efficient transitions between chords? This is the app for you.

This focuses on the most common of triad chords, the ones on the first three strings. A great way to diversify your sound! Great to fingerpick, arpeggiate, try a reggae sound, or just get a different feel than you would streaming open chords, barre chords or chunky power chords.

First select a scale (all the common modes are offered.) The screen will show the chord charts for each triad in that scale, as well as their accompanying first and second inversions. This is a good starting point for learning the chords.

Now, to take it a step further, click on the first chord in your progression, say the root I chord. The most efficient chord inversion for each of the remaining chords in the scale will be highlighted. This will help you reduce the amount of movement along the neck. So if you wanted to go from the C major (I) chord with it's root on the 8th fret, to a G major (V) chord, the suggested chord would be the first inversion of G at the 7th fret.

Note: Resolution of 2048x1152 or greater is recommended.

The worst!

I have deleted many FREE apps. that were FAR better than this one that costs $2. First, the page is too large and cannot be resized or scrolled (like it's 1990 again. Second - How do they utilize all that space? They don't. The entire screen is used to show you just four triad shapes while 1/3 of info. is trapped below because you can't scroll down. Third, at the very least, the developer could have labeled the diagrams w note/interval names. Give me a break. Just Google "Harmonized Triads" and you'll find far more useful info for free.
The idea is beautiful and could be a seriously powerful tool if it were reworked. (triads are chords stripped down to their 3 essential note clusters that are relatively easy to play) The idea of giving
people all of the possible triad combonations of a key would allow them to jump right in the deep end and start making and hearing their own music.
Pretty disappointing

Total Waste of Money

The graphics are so small it is impossible to read. Graphics do not re-size or scroll.

And obviously, no longer being developed.

Save your money.

What screen size are you using?!

It resizes on my 27" iMac screen as I write this and the images are plenty big. If they were any bigger, you'd have to scroll, so they wouldn't all fit on the screen, which kind of defeats the purpose.

As far as no longer being developed, what kind of features would you like to see? It does what it is intended to do, give you triad chord diagrams by key, and then suggest the most efficient ones. I use this app all the time when I need to compose something using guitar.

Honestly, for the money, it's a steal. If you are writing seriously and don't have all the triads memorized, it's totally worth the money.
