La aplicación de EL PAÍS te acerca la mayor cobertura de noticias nacional e internacional en español. Con nuestros más de 300 periodistas repartidos en 4 redacciones y nuestra extensa red de corresponsales, hacemos periodismo de calidad y riguroso.
A través de la aplicación, podrás disfrutar de todo el contenido disponible en las secciones de la web, pero con una experiencia de lectura más fluida que te permitirá acceder a algunas funcionalidades como:
· Elegir la edición que deseas leer: España, América, México, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, US Español o US English.
·Seleccionar las notificaciones que quieres recibir y configurar los temas y el momento en el que quieres recibirlas.
·Guardar noticias para leerlas más tarde.
·Seguir a tus autores o temas favoritos. Te avisaremos cuando publiquen novedades.
·Cambiar el tamaño de letra para adaptarla a tus necesidades.
Además del contenido tradicional, también ponemos a tu disposición nuevos formatos audiovisuales, como los programas de vídeo en directo o los podcasts diarios de la serie “Hoy en EL PAÍS”.

En esta aplicación, también encontrarás funcionalidades exclusivas para suscriptores:
· Acceder a la versión digitalizada de la edición impresa de EL PAÍS y sus revistas, así como del periódico económico Cinco Días (solo para suscriptores Premium).
· Descargar las noticias de la portada para leerlas sin conexión. Accede a toda la actualidad, aunque no dispongas de conexión a internet.
· Consultar EL PAÍS Exprés: una sección de EL PAÍS que selecciona las noticias más esenciales del día y las resume para que conozcas todo lo necesario sin perder el contexto.
Al igual que en la web, algunos contenidos solo son accesibles bajo suscripción. Para acceder a ellos, tendrás que iniciar sesión con tu cuenta de usuario.

Frequently malfunctions
Several times a week I must delete the app and reinstall it in my iPad because it won’t open. This is tiresome and should not be that hard to fix.

Bad performance
Most recent update forces app to refresh its whole content every time you have read a news article and navigate back to landing page. The app has many known issues, but this is a primary standard to avoid in the reading experience. Utterly frustrating. I can't read more than three consecutive articles because content seems not cached and needs to be pulled every time
New El País Exprés section lacks of modern UX design standards that places this kind of tab navigation at the bottom of the screen. Its excessive promotion with two big colored buttons on landing page for the same type of action makes the reading experience unbereable
Love the journalism and the app… when it works
This app continues to be buggy and crash all the time. There are moments when it works, when it does it’s great, but it’s not often. I even have premium thinking maybe it would be better and still doesn’t work. I always end up reading on desktop out of frustration.
