Recommended Grade Levels: 4/5
Based on the classroom hit Middle School Math HD, Elementary School Math HD is a stunningly beautiful and powerfully engaging application built for today's technology-driven elementary school classroom. Emphasizing game-playing and skill development, the eight modules in Elementary School Math HD have been carefully designed by classroom teachers to provide the perfect balance between fun and the practice of fundamental skills
Here's what's included:
Ordering Numbers - Students jab scurrying little crabs to order fractions, decimals and integers from least to greatest.
Data Magnet - Students create surveys and question their peers before generating pie charts and bar graphs to display their data.
Pinpoint Plotter - Students plot points on a coordinate grid. The points connect as the students progress to form a musical instrument.
Place Value - Students read numbers in words before dragging digits to their correct position on a place value chart.
The Patterning Cage - Students rescue a little caveman from a cage by completing a number sequence.
Shape Board - Students pull elastic bands over pegs to create two-dimensional shapes. They then measure for area and perimeter.
Operations - Students practice adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.
Rounding Numbers - Students round to the nearest ten, hundred, thousand, tenth, and whole number in this wonderfully engaging game.

A lot of good practice
I like the variety of games on this app. The beginning levels need more practice before moving to advanced levels. On the rounding game the beginning level should only be between two numbers, not four. This was too confusing for someone just starting that. The pinpoint plotter is a good beginning practice for those just starting graphing. The shape board is fun to play around with, but hard to get the line on the exact place you want it to be if you are trying to create a shape. I like the ordering numbers but it does advance to a higher level too quickly for those needing beginning practice. I think if the beginning levels were expanded to give more practice this could easily include more grade levels.
Needs ability to customized
This app is off to a good start though it would be morse useful and. Less frustrating if it were able to allow settings for different grade levels and ability levels as well as user names so different kids can keep track of scores and progress!!
I use my educational apps at work for my students to gain practice. I always preview the app before allowing the students to try it. I must say the number patterning game selection had me stomped. This is an elementary school math and my fifth graders would have been terribly discouraged and frustrated. That needs to be review and fixed.
Otherwise its a cute, fun, and interactive app.
