This app has helped me for about 32 months, while I have done everything possible to surmount long covid; learning to breathe well and to understand HRV through the functions of this app might have been the most effective intervention of all that I’ve tried. I depend on the Morning Readiness to assess my plans each day. I am grateful to the developers and encourage others to give it a try.

Thank you for the wonderful review and for sharing your journey. We’re truly honored that the app has supported you through recovery and helped you better understand your body.

  • Better than Spren

    FauxTux

This is a dedicated device for determining your HRV. I then purchased the Spren app for my iPhone. I was stunned at how divisive the results were so I started paying much closer attention to determine which was providing the most accurate results. After a year of comparison, I can confidently say that the Elite HRV is superior to the Spren results. Yeah, it’s more expensive but what good is bad data?

    Developer Response

Thank you for your five-star review. The Spren finger camera is very accurate for the majority of the population, but it can vary per individual based on various factors. We are glad you found an option that works for you. Please know you can reach out to our technical team so we can provide more details that an app review reply will not allow - support@elitehrv.com.

  • Powerful tool!

    jman98

This app and its tagging feature is amazing. I think one amazing way to upgrade the tagging is implenting tag categories. For example. Activities, like yoga and meditation, HIIT, (which I know is included already), and supplementation. I’ve been manually tagging each recording session with what supplements I’m currently taking, but I’d like that categorized by the whole day to see what the effects are of the supplements on the days I’m taking them. AI insights would be such a powerful way to make use of the data being collected too. The charts in the current trends tab is a little difficult to understand for someone who’s completely new to HRV tracking and interpreting that data. I’d like tangible actionable insights gathered from these logs. The app is otherwise great. I love the biofeedback breathing sessions, would be cool if they partnered with Muse and other EEG tech companies to do brain and heart coherence training. I do recommend this app it’s worth using in my opinion, and I very much look forward to the upcoming new features.

  • Simple to use, lots of data

    RomeBurns

This app is simple to use, and works almost flawlessly with my Suunto Heart rate belt. On the times that the app and the HR belt don't want to play nice, I have found the following triage works:1. Make sure that the HR belt contacts pads are wet. If so, then2. Hold my iPad closer to my HR belt. If that doesn't work, then3. Make sure that the HR belt "dongle" is securely clipped in. If that doesn't work, then4. Clean the HR belt dongle's pins or plugs with rubbing alcohol and reattach. If that doesn't work, then 5. Turn off the app entirely and restart. If that doesn't work, then6. Restart my iPad. If that doesn't work, then7. Replace the battery in my HR belt dongle. I noticed that most problems with getting a reading relate to my HR belt, not the app. I hope that this helps anyone who might have troubles connecting.

    Developer Response

Thanks for the 5-star review and for sharing such a thoughtful troubleshooting list! We’re glad the app works well with your Suunto belt. While we didn’t develop for iPadOS and don’t officially support iPad use, we really appreciate you outlining what’s helped—others may find it useful too.

  • Losing faith in wrist measurement trackers

    UpgradingAI

Have used health trackers for a long time, such as Oura, Apple health, Fitbit, etc. After a recent trial of a program called Welltory, which seem to give consistently false and low measurements using Apple Watch I looked into more accurate solutions and found elite HRV. This program and using a chest has restored my faith in which programs are providing meaningful insights and whether their HRV scores were accurate. I’m getting much more accurate HRV readings, readings that are twice as high or more as what I was getting on my Oura and in Welltory. I’m starting to wonder if those devices have a limiting factor of the way there taking the readings at the wrist. Oura did much better than the other apps at giving a readiness score that seemed to match reality. Even if the HRV scores were not that accurate. Welltory despite following their instructions, consistently produced recommendations that were diametrically opposed to what my Oura ring would say and HRV scores that were less than half of what i amgetting in Elite HRV. Now that I’ve been using elite HRV for several days for me I can confirm that it was the Welltory app that was producing the faulty interpretation of results and that my HRV levels are in a great range and not abnormal vs wrist measurements on other devices. It could just be a fluke of my biology, or physiology but I’m glad to see the chest strap measurements confirmed as being the most accurate.

  • This app could change your life for the better!

The Elite HRV Podcast has a wealth of knowledge which will educate you about your HRV and it can put you on the path to many positive life changes. What I REALLY like is the Biofeedback tool that lets you follow Dr. Leah Lagos 10-week Breathing Program. Listen to the July and August 2020 podcasts with Dr. Leah Lagos and then do yourself a favor and purchase a copy of her book “Heart, Breath, Mind” and do the 10-week breathing program, you won’t be sorry. The Elite HRV app gives you all the tools you need to follow the program. I like the Elite HRV CorSense finger sensor for taking morning HRV readings as it is convenient to slip it on your finger as soon as you wake up. I do prefer a heart rate chest strap (I used the Polar H10 with some conductivity gel to ensure a good signal) for doing longer breathing sessions/measurements. The CorSense finger sensor is sensitive to cold hands, so I find I get a more accurate signal from the chest strap. But when I first wake up and my hands are warm and I want to take a quick morning HRV reading, you can’t beat the convenience of the CorSense finger sensor and I have no problems with the signal quality. Cheers!
