Description

EFA revolutionizes email management by automating and streamlining the process. The core philosophy behind EFA is to minimize cognitive disruption. Typically, sorting emails involves halting a high-value mental task to focus on the mundane chore of deciding where each email should go, followed by manually moving it to the designated folder. EFA cleverly eliminates this hassle.

The app achieves this by monitoring your email organization habits. It learns from your past actions to predict where you might want to file new emails. With EFA, your role is simply to approve its suggestions, and it handles the rest, seamlessly integrating into your workflow.

Building on its innovative approach, EFA 5 introduces the EFA Mail Extension for Apple Mail, powered by MailKit. This extension is a game-changer, embedding key functionalities of EFA directly into Apple Mail. As users compose an email, they can now proactively select the destination folder for EFA to file the email post-sending. This ingenious feature eradicates the need to manually organize emails from the Sent Items folder, streamlining the process further.

This enhancement, highly anticipated and the most requested by EFA users, signifies a significant leap in email management efficiency. To utilize the EFA Mail Extension, it's essential to have the main EFA 5 app running and Object Reference Caching enabled (accessible through EFA preferences under the 'Other' section). This integration ensures a more intuitive and seamless email handling experience directly from the Apple Mail interface, making EFA 5 an even more indispensable tool for email organization.

EFA's standout features include:

- Individual Filing: Easily sort a single email or a batch of them.
- Batch Filing: Effortlessly organize all emails in a mailbox, like Sent Items or Inbox, in one go.
- Email Reply Workflow: Streamline the process of replying, filing the response, and organizing the original email.

Accessing EFA is flexible and user-friendly, available through:
- The EFA main window has both expansive and minimalist layouts.
- A Head-Up Display that's always visible for quick access.
- The Dock for easy navigation.
- The Touch Bar on MacBook Pro models for intuitive control.
- Keyboard shortcuts for efficiency.

EFA is designed to integrate seamlessly with Apple Mail, part of macOS, ensuring a smooth and efficient email management experience.

closest filer, but still miss MailHub

EFA has been my best semi-auto Apple Mail filing assistant since having to say goodbye to Dervish Software/MailHub. Still haven't gotten the nack of forcing an update to the database, so some things just have to be filed by using the search box to bring up the mailbox. The UI is not bad, but i pine (mayb whine) for someone to recreate the MailHub experience.

works sometimes, sometimes not

EFA has been really helpful with filing messages in Apple Mail. But it requires a separate window, and its ability to predict the correct mailbox for filing does not always work or works really slowly. The 'send and file' function has never worked despite repeated attempts. The developer is intermittently responsive. There are lots of useful features, but I don't use many of them so can't rate the product on that. All I want is quick and accurate filing. And so far I've not found anything better than this, despite its flaws.

Can't live withoutit!

I have accumulated so many mailboxes over the years that filing a messae manually would have become an onerous chore. Email Filing Assistant takes the chore off my hands. It works beautiffuly. The only caution is that once in a great while it seems to bog down, and I fix that by shutting down and re-opening it. In extreme circumstances, and I mean EXTREME, I have it reindex my entire mail store.
