Great to Know!
It's great to know what's "going down" when I hear sirens! It's a little frustrating that I can hear county transmissions, but often not local muni police and fire. ...and the map seems TOTALLY "lost" as to showing from where the transmissions are coming. Overall, though, I LOVE the App and the potential for being "in the know"!
It's pretty good
It ain't for the rural areas and if u wanna know what's happening in a community of 5,000 or less this app isn't for u. It's alright I guess but far from "outstanding". The listings have more departments (10xs more) that isn't broadcasting than is. It says that the particular station broadcasts at certain periods, that is total B.S. I've had this app for 2 yrs and any station that doesn't have a # of listeners underneath, you can forget about ever hearing them. So to sum it up, the app might say that it covers ?? Thousand frequencies (or however much it advertises, but you might as well take 75% of whatever it advertises off cause it doesn't. It's a good app but don't believe everything you see in the advertisement.
Been waiting 4 years
For one of these scanner apps to acquire the frequency rights for anything in my home town. I've been an avid scanner user for the past 9 years and when the scanning apps first started to appear I was hopeful that it might replace my handheld all together. This is the one app out of many that I've been turning to over and over again where ever I go. Now I can finally listen to RCPD and listen to my buddies get pulled over. Great app now that it's updated.
