EpiMonitor is Empatica's next-generation, FDA-cleared, epilepsy monitoring system aiming to provide peace of mind for people living with epilepsy and their caregivers. The EpiMonitor App pairs with EmbracePlus, a medical smartwatch designed for continuous health monitoring. The App and watch work together to detect possible convulsive seizures. When detection occurs, EpiMonitor will alert the user’s selected caregivers via an automated text message (SMS) and phone call so they may get help when they need it most. EpiMonitor can also serve as a practical seizure diary integrating activity data and sleep data creating an automated epilepsy journal.

EpiMonitor’s most important feature aims to provide prompt assistance when a possible convulsive seizure is detected. Alerts are sent to dedicated caregivers as phone calls and text messages (SMS) with the GPS location of the user. Alerts may be automatically sent when a possible seizure event is detected or by manually pressing a button on the EmbracePlus smartwatch when you feel you might need help.

Epimonitor keeps track of all your seizures in a practical digital diary that is available inside the app and can also be downloaded in PDF form, and easily shared with family or physicians. Integrated activity and sleep data collected via the EmbracePlus smartwatch may also be integrated and viewed on the app to monitor fitness or identify trends and patterns in your epilepsy.
