Empire City: Civilization Dawn 4+

I love this game very much! Reminds me of the countless hours of playing the “Caesar” series back in my college years! It used to be that I’d download an rpg game just so I could build the cities. I wasn’t interested in the battles, etc. I just wanted to craft & build. Finally I’m able to do just that 🙂 Thank you all for doing such great work! 🏆

I downloaded this game, seeing that the reviews were good (besides the warehouse storage cap which I already saw was an issue only some people were having, and just thought it was a playstyle thing. I went on the game, and thought it was fun. I started working on the Coliseum, built houses and roads, and it was a fun time. Well, the warehouse storage cap came in. Because of the resources you need to get the coliseum tokens, as well as upgrading it and the other buildings, the low warehouse cap was getting to me. It was so annoying, having all of the supplies I needed to upgrade buildings, but not being able to fit them in my warehouse because of the storage cap. Then, I realized something. The materials that are needed to upgrade the warehouse can only be gained from things like the daily bonus, leveling up, or gems. Gems can get you them with no effort, but you also get them through daily rewards and leveling up. However, the easiest way to get gems is by shelling out money. The developers clearly decided to add the warehouse cap so you would pay for gems to increase it since it made the game more annoying. I know you make money off of this, but it makes the game actively worse. I know you probably won’t listen, but REMOVE THE CAP. PLEASE.

I quit simcity recently because it’s such a money grab, and so far this seems like a great alternative. One minor thing that bothers me is how massive the workers are compared to the people walking in the streets. Are they OGRES? They’re significantly and awkwardly larger…. why?!? The gameplay itself is smooth and progress is satisfying. The main reason I quit simcity is because you’re basically required to camp at low levels to progress, so if this game actually rewards you for progressing then I’ll consider investing some money into it. But if you’re required to make feeders and are punished for leveling quickly I’ll quit just like simcity. Fingers crossed!
