Fun & gorgeous game
Just finished playing Empress of the Deep. It was very enjoyable. The hidden object searches were just challenging enough to be fun, as were the puzzles. There were one or two I just hadn't a clue how to finish, so it was nice to have the option to skip. I have to admit though, one was a chess puzzle & I have no idea how to play chess, so I didn't even try. I know, lazy on my part. lol! The hint system was helpful about 95% of the time, and the graphpics were just gorgeous. It did task my little MacBookAir pretty hard though. The fan started running full speed after playing more than a half hour or so. My only complaint, and the reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the ending. After a nice, steady pace during the main story, the ending simply felt extremely rushed and poorly planned. It's nice to see their working on a second and I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for it.
Does anyone else's macbook get really hot when you play this game? So far I am enjoying it, the only downside is that it also uses A LOT of the battery's power. I played for 20 minutes and it used more than half of the battery power. Is this also happening to others?
Very, very cool!
Graphics are amazing! Entertaining story line with challenging, but not impossibly frustrating, puzzles and hidden objects. Comments about it being too short are not fair. I think for a game in this price range it's about right. No, it's not Myst in it's complexity or duration, but it's still beautifully done and well worth the time and money.
