Needs two adjustments
The original version of this app gave a prompt for a tip on the signature screen. Now it is on a screen that appears prior to the signature screen. I much prefer the original version! I work in a service that is traditionally tipped, but it is awkward for me to directly ask the customer if they would like to tip. When the tip prompt was on the signature screen, those who wanted to tip would do so, and those who didn’t want to could simply sign without directly rejecting the suggestion to tip.
The second adjustment that I would recommend is to show the transaction date for each transaction on the history screen. The original version had the date and it was convenient for me when it came time for bookkeeping.
Otherwise, this app has been working well for me for many years!
I like it..
I'm a hairstylist and I use this app for all of my daily transactions.. I love the statements I get and price is unbeatable. I do wish that there were more options regarding the tip prompt. If you'd like an option to tip they pre list tip percentages.. I feel my clients just click the 20% tip button and it ends up being much less than they used to leave me. I also wish the inventory would sync between devices. I entered all of my inventory on my cell phone while I had time at home and when I got to work to cash someone out on my iPad there was no inventory listed. Other than that, the system is incredibly easy to use and I'm pretty happy with it.
Decent, Could be better
Overall the app is a lot better than what some companies offer, though there are improvements to be made. The user interface is nice, but the app doesn't always work properly.
The most frustrating thing is that during poor cell service the app will say it's offline; even once there is a sufficient connection and the app appears to be online, transactions will not go through. In such a case you must force close the app and try again, very frustrating especially when the client is not present and you must manually key in the card for a second time.
Additionally, when keying in numbers you must use the onscreen keypad and not your physical keyboard. If you use a physical keyboard the numbers will show up but somehow things just don't work right.
Bluetooth connectivity with the swipe, chip, and contactless reader is less than stellar. Sometimes the only solution is to force close the app, restart the reader, and try the transaction again.
