Pretty solid, needs refinement

Ok I love this app. The keypad layout is great, and most things about this app just make more sense compared to the official app by ETC. One thing I would like to see is a fine adjustment option for the encoders as the current increment is too course. Also, the cue list should get the info of the current cue from Eos and highlight it, instead of it having to take priority.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your feedback, You can use 2 fingers on an encoder for fine adjustments. I’ve got a new version coming out in the next few days. I should be able to sort out the cue list issue before the release and I’ll also have a look at the encoder sensitivity.
Kind Regards,
Trent

LAN issue

When I’m paying 30$ per year for this app, and best practice is to use a lighting console in an environment without internet access, having the app constantly trying to check if I have the subscription becomes a barrier for use. Each time I want to use it, I have to remember to turn off WiFi/or switch networks, load the app, hit “restore purchases”, then again reconnect to the lan network my console is on, and then finally I can use it. There has got to be a way for it to check maybe once a month? Maybe have it check in, and if the user has a valid subscription, set a variable in the app to the date their subscription would expire or renew. If the app sees the variable and the date stored in the variable has not been reached, keep it enabled. If the variable has a date that has passed, for it to check if the subscription has been renewed and update the variable. That way, you only need to check in with the server every once in a while

Developer Response ,

I understand your frustration, it frustrates me immensely. This is a bug that I have been chasing to quite some time, but it only presents for a few people, and I haven’t been able to replicate it at my end. Also, subscriptions are managed by Apple so there is only so much I can investigate. The work around seems to be to delete the app and all your devices on the apple id then re-download the app. I understand this isn’t ideal and if it doesn’t work, please contact me at lightingremotes.com

Kind Regards,
Trent

Useless if using LAN

It used to be great. I don’t know what update this happened in but now it’s incredible frustrating and useless on a job site using a local area network. It wants to check for a subscription randomly every 5 to 20 minutes now and if it can’t (i.e. not connected to the internet because you’re on a LAN with the console) it disconnects. You’ll have to leave the app, reconnect to the internet, go back into the app, restore purchases, leave the app again, go back to your local network, go back to the app, and reconnect with the console every time. Been using this app for years with the monthly subscription and never had this issue until now. Beware if using a local area network

Developer Response ,

I'm sorry this is happening. It's an incredibly frustrating bug and I am hoping to have it fixed in the next version (2.13).
