Description

Make sure you have the latest app version. Turn on your Bluetooth. Tap the icon to open the App. It will search for all Epoch batteries within the range of your Bluetooth device and provide a list. If all the batteries are not listed, move closer to the battery location and refresh the screen. Choose the battery you want to look at.
The Epoch intelligent battery management system and the active equalizer are connected via Bluetooth to monitor the battery status, collect, store and process information during battery operation in real time, exchange information with external devices, and solve the safety, usability and usage of the lithium battery system The key issue of life is to extend the service life of the battery to a certain extent, and to enhance the stability of the battery pack to a certain extent.
1. Display real-time voltage, current, power, internal resistance and other parameter values, and display them in the form of instrument panels and numbers;
2. Display the real-time voltage and alarm status of all single batteries. If the reported parameters trigger the alarm value or protection value, an alarm will be prompted;
3. Each data comparison of the battery cell, the voltage difference. Maximum voltage cell Minimum voltage cell. And the display of cell balance
4. Cell temperature warning. Real-time alarm for over temperature, short circuit, over voltage, under voltage
5. Record the warnings that occur at each moment.
6. Record all battery protection times.
Best Regards !

Cannot save battery connection

The app provides valuable information on the batteries and works well with multiple batteries. However, the battery connection and name is not saved so you have to re-select the batteries every time you close and reopen the app.

Furthermore, it is unable to filter out non-epoch devices so all the wireless devices in the area show up in the list making it even more inconvenient to find and select the right devices.

This can get very annoying when you want to use the app frequently to check the status of your batteries. This should be a relatively easy programming fix to save the device address so hopefully this will be fixed soon.

Since yesterdays update, app doesn’t pull any data from the battery

Yesterday, the app had the worst Bluetooth connectivity interface in the history of mankind, in that you could never reconnect upon app minimization, the app would show Bluetooth devices having nothing to do with Epoch, including Bluetooth headphones, etc., and it would “favorite” your device, so you’d have to select it every time. But at least once you got connected it would pull all the pertinent data from the battery. Today, it has an all new look to it….and it doesn’t work at all. Battery shows 0%, no voltage, no data whatsoever. So amazingly, despite the Bluetooth interface before, it was actually better than it is now.

I emailed customer support with my thoughts on the app a week ago, mostly as a test of their customer service department, and have not heard back. This is not good, and is very telling to me for what I can expect if I ever have a problem with the battery.

Great way to start the LiFePo4 journey

This app is a great way to break into the li-ion arena. It gives you what you need and more, showing state of charge, rate of charge, cell balance, alarms, everything you really could need plus more. It’s a little weak on range and does disconnect pretty quickly but it works great as a stepping stone to a more integrated system. Even now that I have the full Victron connection to my Epoch BMS, the Li-Ion app still gets used for some data that Victron doesn’t show. Keep the updates coming!
