In Space, no one can see you smile

I'm writing this up during a week of what I consider the best so far for AVP game releases since launch, but this gem was unexpected and easily tops the list. This a space strategy rogue-like affair, with gorgeous graphics, and excellent use of hand gesture control. This, topped with the best VR screen on this planet, and you're in for a treat. It's all mission based, with your home station being in first person, where you buy your upgrades, new ships, sell salvaged material, do repairs, interact with admirals and aliens via video feed, and of course, set your missions. Once you take off for a mission, the game jumps to 3rd person view, and now you assign commands to your fleet, all in real time! This is all done with easy to pick up eye/hand controls. You battle alien spacecraft, protect ships, among other objectives.

The ships in space are beautifully detailed, and the UI is super polished. Between the home and space gesture controls, this is the closest I've seen to a full Minority Report-style ecstasy trip. Other developers should take note on how hand controlled games should be done on AVP. I can only imagine a dungeon crawler using this style. Bravo to White Noise Games for this excellent version, and the type of release that makes you glad you didn't prematurely sell your AVP.

Incredibly fun game

The mechanics are well done. The gameplay is beautiful and fun to watch. The ships are really well designed and with the 4K screens and upscaling. they are quite spectacle. The controls are very intuitive. This game is so underrated and I’m surprised it is not recommended on the front page of the App Store. It definitely needs more recognition for what it is. The only reason I heard about it was a post online. That should not be the case. They’re probably more games like this on the App Store that I can’t find.

For the developers, I wish you someway in this game to have two teams fight without having to interact whatsoever. The sandbox mode is fun, but the ships don’t act like the enemy ships, so I have to involve myself in the battle. I really wanna be able to watch the AI’s fight each other because the game is so beautiful and it’s awesome to see the space fights. Otherwise, this game is practically flawless. I’ve played it many times already. God bless Jesus be with you all.
