Bugs and errors, hard to search and browse
I frequently get errors. I tried to report the error in the app using their email contact option, and that broke too. Couldn’t even send the feedback email.
On top of that, it’s really hard to browse. It makes you pick a location first and then say your pickup times and drop off. But if your location is closed, they just say — nope, sorry. So you go back to square one and try the next location and hope the hours work out. Why not just have the user enter the pickup drop off times first, then show the available location — makes much more sense, right??!

Worst full of backs no support available
Whoever wrote the backend for this platform needs to quit their job and go back to intro to computer science. I clicked back on during booking on the website, and despite not showing any confirmation or indication, Europcar already charged my credit card. Because they also don’t have any support phone numbers listed anywhere, I had to dig deep into the internet and found their sales number, which they couldn’t find any reservation and told me to call back on Monday when their customer service opens. How can any rental not have 24/7 customer service, and the fact that they can charge me without any trail of evidence, nothing shows up on website, nothing shows up in this old looking app, even their sales can’t find my reservation in database and I can’t even get my money back.

Please note that no one from Europcar customer service teams will request your credit card details for any reason, and you should never provide this information over email or over the phone.
App charged me twice, still no confirmation email, refunded extra charge will take 2 weeks minimum
Easy enough to use and book a car. Submitted payment and then discovered I was charged twice (over $4200). Also, there was no confirmation email - do I have the rental? - but later there was an email sent to me to compelling me to complete the booking and that my car is still waiting for me (!) I reached out to Europcar to resolve the issue and now I’ve been told I have a reference number to handle my case but it may take up to 10 business days to refund the money they erroneously charged me - we can easily give them money, but when it’s their error, sorry, but we’re holding onto your money for a bit. My wife the lawyer is now mad as I should have stuck with our usual car rental company. Thanks Europcar!
