Bonjour et voilà, the new and improved Eurostar app is here

It’s now easier than ever to book tickets for your high-speed train journey between the UK, France and Europe on your mobile. Download the free app now and enjoy glamorous city breaks to Paris, Brussels or Amsterdam, jam-packed day trips to Bruges and shopping expeditions across the Channel with links to over 100 destinations across Europe.

We’ve been busy making some exciting updates to your essential travel companion, the Eurostar app. There’s a beautiful and simple to use design, an easier ticket booking process and everything you need right where you need it – on your mobile.

And the app is available in English, French or Dutch.

All the features you know and love are still there, including our pièce de résistance…

We’d like to make paper tickets a thing of the past, which is why you can now download your ticket in the app as an eTicket. It helps our environment, and it’s easy and convenient. When you travel with Eurostar, you can quickly scan it at the eTicket gates without having to search through your bag – or realise you’ve left it at home on the coffee table. Oops.

To keep you (and the little ones) entertained on your journey, you can watch your favourite shows using our wi-fi. We’ve also teamed up with Amazon to bring you more of the best films and TV series to enjoy through the app. We can even take you on a virtual reality adventure with Eurostar Odyssey, our wonderful world beneath the waves.

As frequent travellers know, forgetting your Club Eurostar loyalty card when you’re on a trip is a bit of a pain. We’ve solved that problem with a new digital version that’s saved on your app. It makes your experience that little bit smoother and means you’ll have quick access to your exclusive discounts, and things like the lounge and fast track.

• Make bookings and find the best ticket prices for trips between London, Paris, Amsterdam, Bruges and Brussels plus all Eurostar stops in between. Or, go further into France for a holiday or city break with direct trains to Lyon, Avignon and Marseille.
• Add and view all your upcoming bookings in one place.

• Stay in touch by connecting to onboard wi-fi on our new trains.
• Sit back and relax with the best TV programmes, films and more.

• Check live arrivals and departures.

Language settings are bizarre

The app is fine but it’s weird that it won’t let you choose languages other than those associated with the country you’re in. E.g. if you set your home location to the Netherlands, it doesn’t give you the option for any language other than Dutch. The help section is pretty useless too since it just sends you to a website which then reroutes you infinitely. But booking tickets is relatively painless. Just don’t try to do anything else.

In response to the claim that the developers have provided: Yes, you do allow me to change the language. But you don’t let me change it to a language other than that of the selected country. E.g. if I change location to the Netherlands, I can’t pick English as my language. If I want pricing in Euros, I have to go with Belgian/English, which is just odd for an international travel app.

Hi. We support English, French and Duch languages at the moment. To change your language, tap on MORE, then SETTINGS and you’ll see the option there. Thanks.

Watch the dates

I recently booked a ticket and selected a date for travel in my search....it does not automatically take you to the correct date in the results list and you might accidentally book on the wrong date if you don’t change it. And unless you booked a changeable fare you’ll be stuck with a change fee to fix it. 😂 that’s what happened to me. There ought to be a 24 hr change option...or even a 1hr change option since I discovered right away but only way to correct was a change fee. Otherwise this app is really nice and convenient option for ticket details and use while on the train.

Mobile app error

I have an issue with switching tickets to August 9-10 versus August 8-9. The system changed the date and i didn’t notice. Customer service has not be forthcoming. I contacted them several via Email and the online application. Then they provided me with an international number to call them. What a pain! However i spoke to online chat who provided US customer service number and after pleading my case they agreed to fix the application error. Four stars! Had to update my prior review. Thanks Eurostar.
