Great game, bad advertising.

I downloaded the game not because of the adds, but I had seen them. I genuinely love the game and I’m very high up on most of the leader boards. But the adds are very misleading. It’s kind of upsetting that the game is actually pretty good, minus the sexualization of the characters, but they’re pushing out these adds that make everyone mad, because they really are misleading. The adds send me for a loop. They’re somewhat connected to the game, especially the second chapter, but seriously they need to fix the advertising. This game is not some mystery game, and, catching monsters only takes you so far. I have SSR characters even though I’m a free player. Put the drops are not amazing. These problems don’t ruin the game, they’re easy to get around, but the advertising genuinely is such a huge problem. If the advertising was an actual game, if you one of the best on the App Store, but the advertising barely connects to the game. This game is good, very entertaining. The advertising has nothing to do with the game and don’t download it if you have a specific idea what you want in the game because of it. MatPat made a pretty good video about it, but it kind of discredits the game itself.

Please fix the mana system

I really liked the concept of this game. I downloaded it because I thought it would be similar to Pokémon with capturing monsters with the cool twist of fighting alongside your monsters. The story mode was really fun to play through and I really enjoyed playing for a couple hours at a time, but after I completed the offline story mode was when things slowed down for me. I still enjoy logging in and being able to summon different monsters and power them up, but there really isn’t much else to do, and I think a big reason is the mana/energy system. The offline story mode was great because it didn’t require mana to play. After, each stage for the online story mode and the events costs mana. 300 mana isn’t a lot and can be consumed in the matter of 15 minutes and the regeneration of mana is really slow. And the cost of mana for each stage only goes up the higher stage you are in. I really enjoy the game and I want to play for a long time, but the mana system really makes it hard to do that. I understand the need for mana for events, but I don’t think it would be unreasonable to remove mana consumption at least for the story mode so there is at least something to do and a way to grind for basic resources other than just logging in every day. I really hope something is done about this in the future, but other than that, I really liked this game.

Not what I was hoping for

I discovered this game through ads. And it was the usual, ads are nothing like the actual game. The ads portrayed a completely different game. The multiple ads I saw showed an open world exploration rpg with horror and mystery elements. This is not true. The game is, yes, a mostly open world rpg when npcs aren’t blocking your way. Horror is nowhere to be found. I’m mostly through the offline story and most of it was a stereotypical op main character and fighting the bad guys with an all-to generic plot. I say almost through the story because I’ve reached a point where I can’t get any further- all my characters are too weak. But the rate of getting an SSR character is absolutely horrendous, as the other reviews have said. It’s a very pay to win kind of gatcha, so I’m entirely screwed. I’ve hit a dead end playing a game I’d hoped would turn into what I was anticipating. What’s more, I was completely unaware fighting was part of the game until coming to the App Store. But this is where the game shines. It’s a challenging battle and strategy set up. I don’t tend to like battling games like this but I did enjoy it enough to play until I reached my dead end. The game is also beautiful. It’s semi pixelated but still rather pretty. I’m very disheartened as I was excited to play this imaginary game the ads showed off. But the game proves to be entertaining enough to a point.
