This app is the only thing that helped me to heal my diastasis. I am 21 months post c-section, tried pelvic floor PT and 2 other apps for a long time before stumbling onto Every Mother, and no kidding- 1 month into this program my diastasis is gone. The core compressions are simple but effective. I think other apps I tried overcomplicated everything, but with this program it all just clicked. Finally feeling ready to try for baby #2 and plan to use this app in my next pregnancy also. Thanks EM!

  • Great company, great product

The “reclaim” program for postpartum bodies has been great. I had a diastasis recti throughout my four pregnancies and never honestly tried to repair it until now. This makes it so much easier than having to go somewhere to see PT. Not an easy task when you have a bunch of kids to haul around with you. Plus, this program IS designed by PTs as well as other women’s health professionals. All the education they give has been a total eye opener— I understand a lot more about my body than I used to. I think I still have quite a ways to go as I can get four fingers + across the width of my DR but I am about halfway through the program and have been feeling more confident and motivated to continue. I also purchased the E M support garment and try to wear that overnight and sometimes during the day under my clothes. I recommend wearing it over a tank top. It definitely feels like it is pulling my abdominal muscles together and not allowing them to bulge out.A quick note about the customer service: they truly are fantastic. I have had only positive interactions with them and on situation, especially they went totally above and beyond my expectations.

I’ve been using Every Mother for 5 years. It probably saved me from depression and broken relations. Giving me something to commit to that actually worked to reclaim my body post twins was priceless to me. I love Leah and the Every Mother team. I feel cared for, seen, and celebrated. I can’t recommend this community and service more. I’m stronger and fitter than I’ve ever been. I’ve done all the workouts. I even ran marathon last year, and I credit Every Mother for getting me to a place I could enjoy running again. From the bottom of my soul, thank you Every Mother. I share this tool and lifeline with all new moms. It was critical to my healing and my personhood.

  • Legit works for diastasis recti

    Pizzaparty156

I had not worked out since my 3rd C-section, 7 years ago, because my diastasis recti was so bad and I felt so discouraged and it was so uncomfortable. When I tried to do a crunch, it looked like an alien was trying to jump out of me. Random strangers would ask me when I was due. My OB, during my annual exam, said to me “your abdominal area has just completely given up, hasn’t it.” When I started with this app and did the first gap measurement, it felt like I could get both hand’s worth of fingers (so 8 fingers) into the gap, it was ridiculous. This app was a Hail Mary before I started looking for surgeons (that I can’t really afford).I have now been doing the exercises in this app at least 5 days a week for 6 weeks. Dear lord is it effective. I’m down to a two finger gap, and just a tiny little “gently sloping hill” when I try to do a crunch. I’ve lost .7 inch in my waist and .4 inch in my stomach. And the very best part is I can do the whole thing in my room with the door closed right after taking the kids to school before I head to the office. One time I couldn’t get the exercises in, and I literally did at least the core compressions in the car while driving to work. It’s easy and it feels good to do them. The only negative to this app is that my husband is a little miffed that I started spending so much money on new tops that are small and cute, instead of the tents I was wearing to hide my belly. Good problems. :)

  • Getting good results

I’m 21 days in and I really like this app. I had a diastases after my first pregnancy and didn’t really know what to do about it. I’d always been very active, but was afraid to take on any abdominal exercises in fear of making things worse. After my second baby, I knew I had to seek out professional help. I started going to a class run by a Physical Therapist who specializes in pelvic floor/core/women’s health when my baby was around 3 months old. I also met with her for a few one on one sessions. When my baby was about 7 months old, I downloaded the Every Mother app. The app has really helped me to be consistent with my exercises and get stronger. In just 3 weeks, I’ve seen a big difference in the strength of my core and it also looks tighter, as well. I’ve been more consistent with the app exercises, than with the exercises that the PT gave me. I like that I can follow along with a video for every workout. I love that the app mixes the exercises up - this keeps things from getting boring. I also love the layout of if the app. It’s very easy to use. And most important of all, it keeps me engaged, on track and motivated. I love that each exercise/day get checked off - this is as satisfying as crossing something off of your to do this. I like that there is a visible record of all you have accomplished and all that still needs to be completed. I would love it if you could input some information to personalize the app - add the date that you start and you initial measurements. Great app! Nice work!

  • Not doctor recommended

    Kakakakaitie

I’m currently disappointed in this program. I wasn’t able to see what the exercises would be before paying $60 and creating an account, and then once I was able to see the exercises and attempt to do them, I discovered that some of them are not recommended by my doctor and others are actually impossible/dangerous when you’re six months pregnant with twins. For example, my doctor told me to not do side planks (part of the first day of exercises), because that could create further abdominal separation, as I have two babies pulling their weight down on that side. She also said the breathing exercises aren’t necessarily bad, but I should try to breathe normally at all times, as it can be hard enough to do that without changing your breathing pattern. The second day of exercise featured a yoga flow that told me to bend in half at the waist. That’s just…not possible right now, and it would put strain on my back. There was no modification given. It’s also distressing that the people demonstrating the exercises aren’t pregnant. Sure, it’s super easy for them to just bend every which way, but it doesn’t make me feel like these programs are tailored for pregnancy. All in all, I’m just very disappointed that there’s no sort of money back or trial with this program, as it has been deemed not safe for me and also pretty misleading. Maybe it’s great postpartum, but it isn’t safe or even that feasible during pregnancy, and there’s no way to recoup your $60 after you find that out.

We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the program. We do recommend that you follow the advice of your doctor as each individual pregnancy differs, however, our prenatal program, EMbody Prepare, has been approved by OB/GYNs and follows the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) guidelines for exercise during pregnancy. Further, our foundational technique has been proven effective through clinical studies. We have reviewed the yoga workout that you have mentioned and while it includes appropriate movement during pregnancy, we can see where it could be difficult to follow with a larger belly and have made appropriate adjustments. Thank you for this call-out. Best wishes for an empowered labor and birth. We do hope that you will join us during your postpartum recovery. The Every Mother team
