Inspired by the art style and atmosphere of the Darkest Dungeon and the books of H. P. Lovecraft comes the first adventure in the Evilibrium Universe. The game invites you to an alternate reality at the end of the 19th century, full of adventure, mystics, horrific creatures, dark rituals, and secret cults. In this world, souls are real and sufficient material to be extracted and used as a source of energy. Souls are therefore a hard-to-get and expensive merchandise that many desire.
Strange hostile creatures from parallel worlds lurk in murky forests and deep dungeons. You play a member of the Brotherhood of Hunters, adventurous people who hunt these monsters and catch their souls. You will explore the dungeons of a large world, capture hundreds of souls and use them to create, upgrade, and evolve an army of your own, fight quick, furious battles, discover the mysteries of the Universe and try to stay alive.

A lot of fun, but buggy
I’ve enjoyed this game a lot. The art style and gameplay are fun and the story is intriguing. All the people complaining about paying for the full game are ridiculous. Paid games are generally much better than cramming a game with f2p micro-transactions but if I’m going to pay for a game I’d like to be able to demo it. What have you lost by playing the opening of a fun game then having the option to purchase the full thing? Nothing but some time you would have spent on another game.
Anyway, the game is neat and I hope the devs roll out the in-game guide they mention in other replies because there’s no real descriptions of what ailments are or which card types are better against others. It’s a lot of guess work now.
I’m also kind of annoyed with the ghost house where there seems to be no way to win. 2/3 of your team kills itself through the level then you have to face an OP boss with just one guy. Sometimes the dialogue says your “last companion” died when you have one guy left so I don’t know if it’s a bug or what but I can’t keep dumping 500 coins in to find out...some explanation there would be great.
Keep working on cleaning it up and you’ll have yourself a great game!
I’m giving this game a 3/5 because overall it’s okay, but there are a few major, major problems that make the game much less enjoyable in my opinion. The first is that the bartenders will give you quest that are too difficult to complete. Seeing as that the whole point of the bartenders giving you quest is to help you practice, and make your creatures stronger, I find it pretty ridiculous. The second is the exit points in the dungeons. If you haven’t found an exit point in a dungeon, and all your creatures are defeated, you have no other choice but to forfeit all the rewards you’ve found in the dungeon so far, and exit with nothing but wasted time. The third is that some items needed to evolve your creatures will only be available in dungeons above your skill level. Your creatures’ levels cap about every 10 or 20 levels, so if your creatures have reached their level cap and still aren’t strong enough to get the required materials, you’re pretty much stuck doing the quests the bartenders give you, which like I said before, are sometimes too difficult to complete. I’m happy that the developers allowed people to play a demo before buying the full version of the game. I also enjoy the evolution of creatures as they get stronger. It makes me want to keep playing to see what they’ll evolve into. Despite the things I enjoy about the game, the things I don’t like, make so much less enjoyable in my opinion.
If you are a fan of the Darkest Dungeon you will love this game from the start. This game has a very similar art & fighting style, though simplified in comparison, make it very easy to pick up on. It’s early access so game play is a little limited with only the first chapter available to those willing to support the developers. It’s 2.99 for the full access but it’s got all the potential of being just as good if not better than Darkest Dungeon which is $20. I love the game; developers keep doing you. I enjoy the Frankenstein spin your going with a true horror story fan will appreciate the throw back but no spoilers for anyone out there. All I ask from the community is don’t knock it before you try it. If your satisfied with the game support the developers so they can continue to make games that we can all love.
