累々と横たわる死者の亡骸のなかで、目覚めたそこは、見知らぬ場所であった。どんよりと蒼鉛一色に塗り染められた空は極北の夏を思わせた。そこで蠢くのは生者とも亡霊とも判別がつかないひとがたの群れであり、その双眸の奥の虚ろな輝きは、この世のものとは思えない憎悪をはらんでいた。
目覚めと同時に与えられた謎の攻撃能力で、次々と迫る謎の襲撃者をなぎ払い、あるいは、身を隠し、逃走しつつ、この見知らぬ世界を彷徨し、彷徨いつつ見えない力に導かれるように進み、そして、進むと同時に確実に漸減してゆくその宿命の隘路の果てで見るものとは何か?
