Tracking your spending can be tricky. Whether’s it an impromptu extravagant dinner or that twice-daily and surprisingly pricey coffee hit, it’s incredibly easy to torpedo a month’s budget. Consider Spendee your friendly personal accountant. You tell the app your weekly, monthly, or annual budget and plug in your expenses as you go. You’ll be serviced with helpful notifications when you’re close to hitting prescribed limits, graphs and pie charts to analyze your spending (that can be exported to your desktop computer), and the ability to work in multiple, sharable budgets to keep a handle on your family finances.
Glad I started with a trial and was able to cancel before paying. Tried so many times to share the wallet with my wife. Logged out, logged back in, deleted app, reinstalled, deleted account and made a new one.. no success. Really like the app if I’m the only one using but if we can’t share the wallet, which I assume most families will want to do, then it doesn’t make sense to keep it. I tried via the mobile app and via the web app. Pretty frustrating. Guess we will try something else.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience with sharing wallets. Shared wallets are available for Plus or Premium subscribers. If you need further assistance, please email us at hello@spendee.com. We hope you'll give us another try in the future. Thank you for your feedback.
To effectively manage a budget, i have to be able to look at the budget DAILY and see that I am on track. This is not feasible now because major purchases unnecessarily throw me off budget. For example, if I buy today a $5,000 family getaway including airline tickets and hotels, and the trip is scheduled to occur next year, I’d like to be able to spread the $5,000 across the specific days of the trip. Similarly, if I buy a sofa or a new iPhone, or a car(!). I now have this major purchase that unnecessarily throws me off my monthly, and possibly annual budget. If I could spread the expense across its lifetime, that problem goes away. This would enable me to look at the budget daily, and see how I’m doing. Specifically, what I need is: in the budget view the ability to set an accrual schedule for a transaction - when does it start, and across what period to spread it. This feature already exists for Cash transactions. All Spendee needs to do is enable this logic in the Budget view. So I spread the iPhone across, say, 4 years. And I spread the getaway package across 2 weeks, starting on the first day of my getaway.
Thank you for your detailed feedback. We understand how important it is to manage budgets effectively, especially with large purchases. Your suggestion for an accrual schedule is valuable, and we'll share it with our development team for consideration. If you have more ideas, feel free to reach out at hello@spendee.com.
If I have "350 dollars", then spend "50 dollars", I have "300 dollars", not "-50 dollars for the day". I spent two dollars on this app looking for a replacement to Dollarbird app, as Spendee claims it has cloud capability. It seems I traded the accuracy and quality of Dollarbird (accurate ability to my expenses in the future, accuracy in my "total balance", as explained in the example above.) For a cloud capability I haven't tried yet. The question is, do I pay 60 a year for reliable graphing AND cloud capability with Dollarbird? Or do I have to constantly meddle with the display settings of the graph (1 month, 3 month.... Weeks) to not even have a whole "total balance". Ive used this app for a month and I could only imagine, if I wanted to see my total balance after I've used it for a year, I could only see my total balance in "year view". It seems app developers can never get the whole picture correct and we, the consumer suffer for trading qualities between apps, even between ones that are free to the ones you have to pay for. 😔👎Make the graphs based off a fixed balance and this app is perfect. It's not that hard.
I've tried so many different budget apps and this is the only one that has worked. Things have been a little tight financially and I have found myself spending everything left over after bills and not saving very much. That's all changed since I downloaded this amazing app. Spendee is wonderful because it helps you visualize where your money is going. They don't clog this app up with ads for credit cards and loans like other apps do, so it is simple to navigate around (but also gives you so much data about where and when you're spending your money!). They let you import your bank accounts but I choose to input my transactions manually every day to keep myself accountable, and I've found this forces me to stay in touch with how much I'm spending each week and how much I've got left in each category. Love love love this app. Thank you for making such a pleasant, easy, effective way to budget.
We are so glad that Spendee is such a great companion for you!
Feedback:- Make categories adjustable, ability to create new ones...etc- Add accounts (I know this sounds different than what the app is trying to achieve, but there is a smart idea here that you could give the user the ability to shut accounts off, meaning there would be one hidden account that takes all income and expenses - just like what the app is doing now) for others like me, I would prefer to add transactions for different accounts, CC, ...etc- Multi-currency entries please.- Add the ability to add reminder on the same day (the first increment available for choice is 1 day before).(I will keep updating with more...)Bugs:- It was hard for me to get out of "Notes" for a transaction- I chose different currency as my main, however I still get a "Dollar" icon at the far left when viewing a transaction.I'm only giving feedback honesty because I see the seriousness and the quality of work put into this beautifully designed and elegantly executed app. The UI is smooth and it is a pleasure to use. But it is way too simple to be beneficial, I would use more features. The overview however feels way more developed than the other aspects of the application, which is fine giving that is an important feedback on the users' spending habits. However, input features, accounts, flexible categories...etc will make this app a full package. Thanks for giving me a hope on personal finance applications.
This app is highly underrated and should be near the top of the charts under apps like Mint and Clarity. The user interface is stellar! Great color scheme, quick/snappy, easy to use, access, and learn. I used Mint for a year and decided I wanted a good for manual tracking didn't want a bunch of services connecting to my bank account and I found Spendee and never plan to switch. I do wish I could create more than one budget with the free version but other than that it great! My financial discipline has increased since using it, it draws a really clear picture as to where your money is going and coming from. Very simple app but extremely effective! If you're looking to manually track finances choose no other app trust me. Doesn't support as many smaller institutions like credit unions as competitors like Mint do but if that's not issue you will love Spendee. Did I mention Apple Watch support also!? 👍🏽👍🏽
