No push notification :)
This app in its early stages of development. It has a number of noticeable UI bugs. But the main problem is that app doesn’t push any kind of notifications, which defeats the whole point of Identity Theft prevention. Unless a user opens the app s/he won’t see any alerts regardless of their severity. I reinstalled the app several times and made sure that notifications are enabled for the app, but to no avail.
I have this app for a week now and saw bunch of test alerts (initial credit checks etc) inside the app, but no push notifications. Even emails notifications are very intermittent. LifeLock and IDShield apps don’t suffer from this problem.
Experian offers absolutely zero technical support in regards to their applications.
Terrible, credit freeze functionality costs extra
Now that you can freeze access to your credit report for free, I downloaded this app to simplify the process. With Equifax and Transunion you can use their apps to easily freeze and unfreeze your credit report. Not Experian. Apparently you have to pay $9.99 a month for their premium service in order to be able to freeze and unfreeze your credit report with this app. Otherwise you have to call them or go online and fill out a lengthy request form.
Developer Response ,
dasteelberg, You are correct, we unfortunately don't have the ability to perform a security freeze in our apps yet. In the meantime, here's a link that provides the details on how to perform a free security freeze online or by calling us:
Can not register
I attempted several times to register for their service, both through the app and online, but their system does not work. Not something I’m looking for in a service that would monitor my personal information. Also, cannot access a representative for help, when I call the number they gave me(automated site just told me to go their buggy site. Zero help whatsoever). Would give zero stars if possible. I planned on paying for their service, but it will go elsewhere.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
