My family placed an order for a future delivery of sushi at a local restaurant. The order was never delivered and after searching the web for contact info (none is listed on the app) I phoned the company to inquire about the order. Despite placing the order at 5:27 pm local time for a 7 pm delivery, the order was never relayed to the restaurant. When pressed on the issue, they blamed the restaurant for being out of rice (a stretch, but ok) and also the move from daylight savings to standard time. Hawaii (where the order was placed) does not observe daylight savings time, and when I asked what website/service they used for their service, they were unable to provide me with this information. All of these issues also took place before 2 am eastern daylight time and the time changes at 2 am for the majority of CONUS. There were no attempts made to contact me about the status of the order and my card was still charged with no offer for company credit after receiving a refund. I’ve had many successful orders with this company but something was clearly amiss with our last order and I feel the staff I contacted were misleading about the issue. Who doesn’t love calling a last minute audible for dinner for an entire family? ☹️
Customer service is non existent, I’ve been waiting almost 2 hours for an order that was supposed to arrive in 40 min. I like the tracking feature but it’s frustrating to see my order just being passed to different drivers. Can a driver just bring me my food? 😭 my order should be discounted if it gets to me 3 hours late and is ice cold.*Edit: I gave this app another try, and am disappointed again. Order took way longer than expected, the ETA just kept getting further and further away. My phone number was wrong in the system somehow so the driver couldn’t contact me about my order, but when I tried to check it I couldn’t find anywhere in the app to do that. There are better delivery apps out there, I don’t think I will be back to this one any time soon.
One of the best if not the only way to get food delivered food in Hilo. Have used the website for at least a year or so now. The app so far has been good. Only complaint I have is that the color scheme is a bit hard for me to read the navigation menu on the bottom, but aside from that it’s peppy and works as expected
This would be 5 stars if I could pay cash. I wouldn’t doubt express waiters company and employees would make significantly more money if cash was accepted as a payment option as many people simply might not have access to a card, or would like to refrain from using their card.
I just completed my first order. I LOVE the ability to be able to track the driver to see updates. The order arrived sooner than expected. I will definitely use Express Waiters again. 5 stars
Estimated delivery times are very inaccurate and frustrating. Generally takes 1-2 hours for food to arrive despite what the estimate shows. No way to cancel an order after you have already missed your lunch. Would love to support a small company but DoorDash is a far superior service.
