A new kind of face-controlled mouse.
Expressions Mouse allows you to control your Mac computer using your facial expression.
It's designed for people with major upper-mobility limitations, including spinal-cord injuries, ALS, or cerebral palsy.
This is a unique, experimental controller. It doesn't require a 'dwell' or a timed click. Instead, the user is able to choose a facial expression that will let them click and drag the computer's mouse.
** Features **
Expressions Mouse lets you:
- move the mouse cursor using your facial orientation.
- click and drag using a specific facial expression.
- map different facial expressions to different computer 'hotkeys,' such as CTRL-Z or ENTER.
- create custom facial gestures, such as a head shake or a head nod, and map those to inputs on the computer.
** Instructions **
This application requires running a separate application on your Mac computer. You can download that for free at facegames.co/expressions.
To use it, simply plug your iPhone into your computer via USB, and follow the instructions on the screen. Make sure both apps are running and that the phone's camera can see your face.
The application works best when the phone is steady, so make sure to use a phone stand or another means of stabilizing it.
Ratings and Reviews
DOA-but hope maybe?
I have a quadriplegic friend and this program looked great him....old SDK platform license had expired...connected with developer who sounded like he was planning to work on program with new iPhone 10 facial recognition platform!
He was really kind in discussing people who need help with app like this...easy to communicate with and looked like he would continue work on app. Now have not been able to reach him for a month or so.
Hope he goes back to work on this!
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
