EyezOn Mobile 4+

This app works well. The interface is terrible though. It hasn’t even been updated for iPhone X (eg it looks like the old iPhone format within the screen) and that was two years ago. Also it does not make use of Face or Touch ID which makes it clunky for everyday use. Trying to cut and paste a secure password (it is an alarm system I wouldn’t use my dog’s name here) with the alarm blaring is less than ideal. All that said the functionality is good, it is just long overdue for a refresh.

The App has finally been updated but the GUI is even less intuitive and much more cumbersome to use. We’ve been using the EyezON APP for about 2 years and although it’s appearance was not the best it was functional, reliable and easy to use. Now the functionality is somewhat hidden so the very first evening my wife used the update she inadvertently armed the system in AWAY mode instead of STAY mode. I spent time on the phone retraining her. Then this morning she was unable to arm the system in MAX mode when she left the house. The update works and I’m going to assume it will still be reliable and that users will eventually adjust to it’s awkward UI but it could be so much better. Enviscor has seen the need to invest time and money in their product but then failed to adequately review the result. Now the customer well have to live with these shortcomings.

I’ve been using this app with my Honeywell Vista system with the Connect2Go v4 interface. Right now I can see that my vacation home is alarmed, and I’ll get an alert if someone goes in or if the sump pump fails or anything else happens that my alarm system can pick up.

Funny, I was going to ditch my old alarm system, but I’m extraordinarily happy I kept it because it is very comprehensive, reliable, and maintenance and administration-free 🙂

Yeah, the UI isn’t so pretty, but it’s the functionality that’s the tops. Oh, and works great in my iPhone 11 under iOS 14.x
