Ratings and Reviews
There seems to be a process problem within ezCater...
I wish this were an isolated event, because I like the ease of using EZ cater. However, AGAIN, today, I have a caterer that didn’t show for lunch, DESPITE accepting the order and DESPITE getting a text this morning that my lunch delivery was OK. When the EZCater rep called the caterer, the caterer seemed to not know they had a lunch. I can accept that perhaps the caterer may have forgotten or was disorganized and that is their fault. What I can’t understand, though, is how I get confirmation that my lunch is okay if the caterer isn’t actually contacted that morning and providing actual confirmation! This is not an isolated incident, unfortunately. It has happened at least 5 times in the last couple of years. In my 20 years within the industry, I didn’t have this happen 5 times in all the years combined before using ezCater! I think it’s time I broke up with ezcater. It’s rude to the offices I call on and ends up making ME look bad.
*** UPDATE***- I had the opportunity to talk directly with the caterer and realized that it was ENTIRELY their fault. Here is what I have determined... some caterers are just DISORGANIZED and so ezCater can be hard for those caterers to stay on top of their bookings. I’ve started booking my lunches closer to the date to at least attempt to avoid the lunch getting forgotten about by the caterer. I’ve been pleased with ezcater’s response every time I have had a problem.
Developer Response ,
Hello Georgia, I sincerely apologize for what happened with your experiences. Being told everything is on track, only to ultimately find out the food was not prepared is way beyond disappointing and frustrating. We consider this to be completely unacceptable and not representative of the ezCater experience that we strive to maintain. We work hard to ensure clear lines of communication and have many checks and balances in place to prevent and resolve issues, but in this case, we certainly were not successful. Though I was unable to locate your account based on your username, our customer service team would love to be able to make it up to you as well as ensure the communication concerns with the catering partner in this instance is being actively resolved. I hope you will give us another chance, so we can prove to you this is not a pattern. If so, please reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org or give us a call at 1-800-488-1803 so that we can focus on optimizing your future order experiences. Just let us know and we'll handle the details! - Justina, Customer Service.
One of my favorites
I don't write reviews, especially apps where there are already thousands of reviews, but ezcater has been so awesome, I want to add my 2 cents. I cater for companies 2-5 times a week, and that gets exhausting trying to find and order from different individual companies.
Ezcater is brilliant and takes out so much stress, not to mention rewards for purchases.
I hopped on a plane today and realized right before takeoff that I had forgotten to cater lunch for 18 people tomorrow. In a panic I downloaded the app, grabbed a caterer that was available, and was done with the order in no time. Incredibly convenient that the whole site/app is designed the same way and there's no fine print to read.
Delivery fee isn’t the tip for the employee.
In concept this is a great idea. Unfortunately from experience this is tougher on the employees that deliver the food. Many company’s charge a delivery fee and that is not a tip for the person delivering it. They don’t get any part of the delivery fee because that’s just what the company chargers for having to send someone out instead of being in the restaurant. Many people do not tip on this app because they never see the employee nor all the hard work they do to set everything up to make it easier and enjoyable for you. It’s like serving many people that deliver are also servers so they don’t get much of a paycheck if they even get one so when y’all don’t tip the employee doesn’t make money. Just a fruit for thought other then that this app is nice and convenient for both customer and company.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
