There’s Potential Here

F1 Manager in general is pretty fun. The ability to race with actual F1 Drivers drew me in after playing MM 2/3 in the past. However, I then realized how micro-transaction heavy the game really is. I like the idea of being able to upgrade drivers over time, but they do not start with realistic attributes at all (Why is level 1 Magnussen significantly better than level 1 Verstappen?). The winner takes all aspect can be quite annoying when your drivers just start randomly qualifying poorly and you have no choice but to accept the loss of coins and race points.

There is a decent amount of free coins and crates, but I think I’ve been receiving the same 4-5 items over and over from the crates for the past few days. I get that it’s supposed to be a grind, however some of the driver/part upgrades cost a significant amount of coins that basically just points to real money being needed to enjoy the game. Also, tire/pit strategies basically come down to “Use hard tires, and try to pit on lap 5”.

So much potential but not quite there yet...

I want to echo what a lot of reviewer’s have been saying about this game. Great graphics and has so much potential, however it is frustrating getting matched up against racers that have much more talent and equipment which means even with the best race strategy there’s no way you’re going to win. Plus I’ve also experienced a race or two where I have won but did not received my crate prize. I plead to the developers to come up with a career mode function where you race against computer AI opponents and complete season after season in a career mode option against computer AI teams in which you can continue to develop your car and your racing team. That type of feature I would even gladly pay for! Please consider and then this is definitely a five star game!

The game is great, I can’t stop playing it. BUT, I am a major critic of the gameplay as well as the bugs in the game. First off, I don’t enjoy that the gameplay is not consistent. It seems as if the bots as well as your own team changes their own skill levels each race. There is ZERO consistency. The next issue is that the game has automatically strategized for me... not for the better. I have lost races because the game will pit my cars by itself with 50% tyre wear, then decide on its own to switch to hard compound tyres. Game constantly switches between normal and aggressive driving as well. The game is very fun, but I think the developers can take some more serious gameplay tips from the motorsport manager mobile developers. I understand bugs will get worked out, but it’s directly affecting my strategies. The biggest thing I can’t stand which is why I give it 1 star, is the inconsistency between races as well as upgrades. Game also puts me up against people who are far below or above my teams capabilities. It’s always either and obvious win or loss from the start.

Hi there,

Thank you so much for your feedback, and we're glad that you are enjoying the game.

Sorry to hear that you are encountering some issues. There is currently a bug where the drivers can sometimes pit or change their speed without player input. This will be fixed in our next update, which will happen in a few weeks.

The matchmaking should balance out as we gain more new players. You may be put up against some of the soft launch audience at the moment who have had a bit of a head start. Hopefully you will stick with us as we have a lot more interesting things coming up. This is just the beginning!

- Thanks, Hutch
