Description

Facial paralysis can be an upsetting condition to live with. Regular facial exercises may help muscles to recover from weakness, improving confidence and wellbeing.
face2face helps by providing a way for you to perform your facial exercises in a way that does not present you with a mirror image of your face, if this is something you find distressing.
face2face also allows you to track your progress to help you build a routine.

You can choose from 3 modes:
- Augmented reality, where you will see a virtual representation of your face.
- Blurred, where you will see a blurry view of your face.
- Live, where you will see an uninterrupted view from the camera.

You can choose an exercise to perform from a pre-determined list, or choose to perform a random exercise. You will be prompted by voice and text to perform that exercise, and shown a progress ring to show how long to perform it for.

You can see which days you have performed exercises on using the built-in calendar.

You can choose which mask and eyes you want to see in augmented reality mode, and how much blur to see in blurred mode.

face2face has been designed to help with facial paralysis caused by strokes and Bell's palsy, but may also help with other causes of aphasia:
- Ramsay Hunt syndrome type 2 (Herpes zoster)
- Myasthenia gravis
- Lyme disease
- Sarcoidosis
- Brain tumour
- Head injury

What’s New

Version 1.9.0

Thanks for using face2face!

This update introduces some amazing new features that were developed with the help of real face2face users like you:

- The number of exercises you've performed today is now visible on the main screen.
- When you perform an exercise, you'll see a bar showing you the symmetry of the facial features you are exercising. And also a bar showing the strength of your exercise, if appropriate. These symmetry and strength scores can be reviewed in your calendar.
- When you complete an exercise, you'll be prompted to enter a rating for it, which you can also review in your calendar.
- When you share the exercises you've performed, it will include the scores and ratings.
- There's some extra guidance when you start an exercise, explaining how long to perform your exercise.
- You can now choose to use a lips-only or eyebrows-only mask, to help you concentrate on these features when exercising.
- You can see some more details about the exercises, including how many times you've performed it, and the last time you performed it.
- The calendar has a new look to make it easier to use.
- Finally, there's a nice surprise in store every time you finish your exercises!
