Facebook 12+

This used to be a great app, but these days Meta decides what you will see and how you will experience Facebook. For example, I always disable the in-app sounds because they are annoying and unnecessary, but every few days the app enables the pointless noises on its own. The newsfeed has been taken over by so-called suggested posts, which range from random local news stations I don’t care about to bigoted memes and there is no way to disable seeing these “suggested” posts. The “hide all from” feature is also broken - I hide a post from a group and I continue to see posts from that group anyway? Like, how even? This is not supposed to be Twitter, I don’t want stuff shoved into my feed if I didn’t seek it out. I want to see my friend’s posts, not stuff from a page I don’t even follow. I don’t mind ads, Meta needs to pay the light bill somehow, but this pointless engagement baiting by Meta is really irritating.
And then there are the blatant copy and paste scams flooding Marketplace and groups. Scams for handyman services and expensive items seem to be the most common and all of them have enough similarities to be removed by the same algorithm which automatically bans you in your swear at someone. Each time I report these posts and accounts, Facebook tells me that the posts don’t violate the rules. It’s really wild that they’d rather keep the scams up for engagement and ad placement rather than protect their users from crimes.

Every time I try to access fb for the past 2 months I get a screen saying “the link may be broken or the page may have been removed” i’ve had other friends search up my account and it’s perfectly fine. No one has hacked me.. I am able to change my password and receive notifications from fb but I’m still met with this interference. I’ve reached out to Facebook for help, I’ve emailed and also reported the issue and also tried to reach out to Mark Zuckerberg himself all to no avail. I have deleted the app and re-downloaded it, I have updated the app and even attempted to make a new account to see if the issue was the app and a new account works just fine just not my old one.. Facebook hasn’t reached out to me to say I’ve been banned or I have done something inappropriate even, there’s nothing! I am just not able to login anymore for no reason.
I’ve had my fb account for almost 10 years now & I am suddenly having these issues. If facebook is banning me or whatever I really wish they’d just remove my account altogether so I can make a new one & move on instead of the hopes that I gain access to it again, it’s completely ridiculous that there’s no one who you can contact for these issues!! I’ve heard of ppl taking them to small claims for court this, they’ve done it to so many others, not fair & shouldn’t be right, especially without an explanation!

Over the last year or two, this app has gotten worse and worse. 1) Almost 100% of the time, it does NOT accept any input emoji (thumbs up, smiley, sad, etc). 2) When you open up your notifications, and then close them, they USED TO no longe be highlighted, as if they haven’t been read, but over the last about year, that NEVER happens. You have to refresh the app to get the notifications to display that they have been read already. 3) When you reply to a post, it doesn’t show up without refreshing the app. 4) When you reply to a post, the reading pane goes completely wonky - it’s difficult to describe what it does, but you can’t even read the comments because it won’t scroll. 5) When you reply, more often than not, it won’t even let you reply. 6) When you reply, most of the time, it won’t even display a reply section, but let’s you type as if you are replying. 7) When you reply, if you try to reread the OP, your reply disappears, which requires you to close the app and reopen it and start all over again with your reply, IF it even lets you reply like stated in 4, 5, and 6 above.

Needless to say, the app is disgustingly bad over the last year or so, let alone the propensity of the company to push a political narrative on people while shadow banning, or outright banning, people who DARE to question the extreme liberal ideology the company pushes on people!
