Description

Factura is a fast and easy way to organize that pile of files you keep trying to ignore. Select the files you want to put where they belong and copy or move them to any existing or new folder. You'll only need your keyboard to create your personal, clear folder hierarchy.
Stop searching for stuff and start finding it.

We all have at least one giant folder stuffed with files we're going to organize later, when we have some spare time. Lots of photos, downloaded attachments. Years of paperwork, invoices and receipts you have digitalized with your brand new Doxie perhaps, waiting to be archived.

Factura lets you flip through those files in no time. Preview each file, give it a destination and move on to the next one. Quick and simple. And free.

Start with a pile.
- drop files to the app window or dock icon
- or reorganize a file via the context menu
- works with any file
- preview the picture, PDF,... without opening it
- zoom in and out on the preview

Let your fingers glide through.
- just type a name for the destination folder
- if the folder doesn't exist, Factura will create it
- add a slash to pick a subfolder
- autocompletion of existing folders
- pick a date for the new filename (default today)
- press Enter to move or copy

Customize.
- choose to move or copy files
- choose to add a date to the new filename
- set a default destination folder
- rename the file or keep the name

What’s New

Version 1.2

Factura now is compatible with OS X Mavericks.

Got some nice idea's? Let me know, and maybe I'll add them to the application.

Factura: the figure it out yourself app

The information at the App store tells you that your present filing system can be upgradedin a matter of minutes with Factura thought does not explain how nor does the app developer’s website or Factura support website. Weak.

You have to type in the folder name for EVERY single file that you drop. Needs a way to quicly select the drop location. i would like to have a list of commonly used archive locations such as work or Project X.

Not Bad

It's not difficult to understand, you move files after you've chosen where you want your "archive" to be stored. When you move the files, you're asked where to place them. For me, I've made several folders for Images, Documents, PSD, AI, HTML etc. so that the files are automatically moved to those folders. Take your time to read what comes up on the display, don't be afraid to play around with the program to learn it.

It's a great tool, especially for someone like me who ends up with a TON of files that I typically move into a folder called "Misc" never to sort them out and end up either backing them up wasting space as I never find what I'm looking for or I just end up deleting them as I don't want to go through the hassle of sorting it. (Which has cost me dearly, darn laziness!) With this program, all you do is basically drag and drop and voila, it's sorted!

I was skeptical at first, but found it to be quite a nice little program and I would recommend everyone who is as messy as me on their Mac's to help keep their files sorted. It's free, so if you don't like it all you have to do is delete it. :)
