We are still in the middle of a pandemic, even though the numbers of people testing positive and hospitalized have gone way down. People still need to be able to see the statistics on cases, hospitalizations, and vaccines on a daily basis.

I hope the paper continues to provide balanced reporting, as it did with the previous editor. Fact checking statements made by state and federal elected officials is particularly important to me, and sometimes it seems that this has not been done.

Other than these issues, I am very happy with the Daily News-Miner and the app, particularly the format that looks like an actual news paper. I find it hard to find information in the preview format.

Been using the FDNM app for several years without any major issues. Much preferred over a paper copy. Article view was great where you tap the article you want to read from an image of the page and read a text version in the main window. You would get the entire article without having to find the page where it continues to read the rest of it. Well, that no longer works. The replica view works fine where you scroll around a page like you’re reading the real thing, but when it continues on page 6 or something, you have to go find that page to continue reading. There is a live article view but it doesn’t work. Go to a page and you might see the first article in the main text area. Or you might see all articles from that page. Or you might see none. The articles are marked with a tinted triangle in a corner, but try tapping an article and nothing happens. This extremely frustrating. It’s like they didn’t even test this thing. As of 1 March 2022 the old app no longer works so we have to use this new one. Just wish they got it working first.

I’ve been using the app for about two weeks and think it’s great. I use this e-edition link and read the paper like its still on newsprint. A click will expand eachvprint article or ad in an easy to read sidebar. You can go back to editions you missed very easily, and accessing comics and the tv page is simple. Since we can’t get cable, the tv pages in the Thursday Latitude are very important They are easily expanded to be able to read, or it can be downloaded and printed.

I saw the negative reviews before I downloaded and had to think twice. I don’t know what it was like a year ago, but even with our slow internet, it’s great. I only wish I had changed to e edition sooner,
