Farm RPG: Semi-Idle MMORPG 12+

I don’t normally write reviews for this game and was also hesitant to download it at first. There are some great text-based games out there, but I am particularly picky when it comes to them. I am a very visual person and sometimes don’t want to sit and read a lot if I’m playing a game (especially a casual mobile game). Then I finally bit the bullet and tried FarmRPG out. But this game is accommodating to lots a play styles and being semi-idle means I can hop on do what I need for progress then log off for a bit to wait for my resources to build back up. AMAZING game mechanics and quest lines. NO ADS LITERALLY EVER! Not pay to win in the slightest even though there is ingame purchases for gold currency (and gold currency is relatively easy to acquire by just playing) Plus so much is currently in the works and the A+ game devs really keep all the players in the loop of what is being worked on (plus taking player polls of what we would like to see in game!). There’s not enough words to describe the lovely and kind community (truly everyone on there has been polite, kind, and generous it’s baffling sometimes). For someone who never bothers with ingame chats and has a plethora of social anxiety on and offline, I’ve made plethora of friends on here and that sentiment seems to be relatively the same for everyone else.

I’m not usually a fan of mobile games, and most idle games as well, but I DO love RPGs of all kinds on PC and console. If you game at all then you will be at least familiar with the “what do I actually WANT to play?!” Dilemma, where nothing hits right in that moment, for some reason… I dip in and out of it often. Btw, sorry for the lengthy setting of the scene. I felt like it makes how I feel about this game all the more meaningful.

Now to the meat and potatoes of this review… My husband is a huge fan of idle games and had a feeling FarmRPG was something that I would love if I just gave it a try. He gave me a thorough breakdown of the game and before I even downloaded it, it sounded like all of the things that I love about RPGs, tucked neatly into a mobile friendly form… It scratches the Loot itch, it scratches to Achievement itch, it scratches the Skill itch, it scratches to Quest itch, it scratches the Crafting itch, it scratches the Exploring itch, and finally it scratches the Community itch (without being annoying!)…. I think I might have even spaced on a few itches it scratches!! It literally scratches almost all of the non action oriented itches that I love about RPGs!!! Give this fantastic game a try. You will not regret it. Our whole family is obsessed with it now… You will love it too!

I’ve been playing FarmRPG every day since October 12th, even when I was in another country on vacation. The community in chat absolutely slaps, everyone is kind, fun, and genuinely interested in other folks’ progress and how much fun everyone’s having. The dev (firestream/fs) is constantly working on improving the game, and has JUST cleared up a major source of lag (that might have prevented players from fully enjoying the game). Honestly, a highlight of my day every time I come back to play. I choose to support the dev on Patreon, but it’s not because I feel like I need to buy in-game currency to progress. Plenty of the game’s quests reward Gold for turning in items, and there’s no ads in the game, which gives it a huge thumbs up in my book. I’ve wasted too much time in other idle/mobile games waiting for a 30 second timer just to keep playing. FRPG rocks, and it’s the greatest mobile game I’ve ever played. Keep up the great work, fs (and all the farmhands and mods)! The gameplay loop is satisfying and things are constantly being tweaked and added, which might not appeal to some players, but I think it keeps things fresh. Thanks a ton, folks.
