Great Skinfold Calculator
The app works exactly as it's supposed to. It estimates your bodyfat percentage based on your skinfold calipers and desired testing method. It will even add in your lean body mass into HealthKit provided that you've entered your weight using another app. The different skinfold methods tend to give different results since everyone stores their bodyfat differently. If you're concerned about which method to use, I recommend getting a DXA scan and then compare each one since DXA is a lot more accurate.
Limited Editing and Poor Instructions
I like the clean interface but after purchasing and doing 3 measurements, one per week for 3 weeks, I’ve found this app is really lacking. The first time I went to use it I chose the three site measurement method and was astonished that there were no simple diagrams on where and how to do the folds. Instead were complex anatomy names for where to do the folds so I had switch to safari and google info. Second issue is you cannot edit entries. I made an error on one entry and wanted to correct it but that is not an option so I had to delete it and re-enter all of the data. Third issue is you cannot set or change dates of entries. I accidentally deleted my first entry and wanted to add it back but there is no date field so that’s gone on my graph. So I’m now looking for a better app that offers better instructions and editable data.
Not overly complicated and relatively easy to use. I like it and it helps to log and record your weekly progress. Maybe I have not figured it out yet, however, I don't see where you can go back and look at your individual measurements after you have entered them into the app. It's not necessary, but I'm interested to see what my exact measurements were rather than just the ultimate body fat percentage from week to week. Nice app so far. Thanks.
