I would have given 5 stars as this is a simple and easy solution to a need many of us have from time to time. I have a home fax but with my new land line carrier sending a fax is not compatable. For lack of a better way to express the one pit fall for me i would say it kind of spit and sputtered a little! Meaning, it appeared to hang up more than once and when I finally got my fax sent it seemed to handup several times then when it showed "fax sent successfully" it was hung up again so I couldn't trust that the fax had been sent. I called the recipient and verified their receipt. It did send the fax perfectly however, it left me second guessing which I hate. I did check my email and received a confirmation notice that the fax was sent successfully however the graphics on my computer screen still made it appear that the program was hung up? It may just be my computer,I don't know? Otherwise I am very pleased for a way to send a fax from home at a resonable price! Thanks!

I am SO satisfied with this app. that I decided to write a review. I have had NO trouble using this great faxing app. I gave up my home landline and use only my cell phone now. Without a landline, Fax Fresh enables me to send a fax from my laptop. I fax rather infrequently--maybe once a month on average, so this solution makes sense for me. It is so simple to use and convenient and I am really just grateful it exists. TIPS: What I do is create a coversheet on my PC and print it. Then, I scan that along with my documents and save it to a thumbdrive. I load the thumbdrive onto my PC and transfer the pdf document to my desktop. Open the FaxFresh app. Drag the pdf onto the app screen. Type in the fax number. It automatically takes me to my PalPal account which I chose as my method of payment. I pay. I click "payment complete." And away it goes...it initiates the fax...it lets me know when the fax goes through successfully, finalizes payment (no charge for unsuccessful fax) and sends me an email confirmation. Sounds complicated, but it's really easy. Plus, I have an electronic record of the fax and its transmittal confirmation. I love it. I don't need a fax machine. I don't need to go outside of my home to fax. I highly recommend it!!

I was scratching my head, wondering why there are a dozen outfits offering to send my faxes at $8/month but none offering a la carte service. (There's one "free" service but your fax has ads and is not sent encrypted.) Lots of us only need to send faxes a few times a year, so the subscription model has to be losing lots of potential customers. And encryption is important, since it's mainly banks that still require fax over email. Enter FaxFresh. It works exactly as it should, and the price is right. Beautifully simple interface, with encrypted contents, a progress monitor, and email confirmation. Just what I wanted. And I found that in Mountain Lion (and probably earlier OS versions too) that it's easy to add a cover sheet to the main document PDF using Preview (goodbye Acrobat!). You don't have to waste money by printing the document or time by driving to a local business that will happily overcharge you. Love this app!

This app works exactly as described and is a real bargain compared to what you might pay elsewhere to send a fax over a phone line.It would be better if the vendor sent a copy of the fax to your email along with the confirmation and it would be much better if the program could be customized to identify the user as the fax sender instead of FaxFresh. Many faxes today to a large institution or governmental agency go straight to an email program (ironically) and if the sender is identified as FaxFresh, it can be difficult for them to find your transmission.Customer service is excellent. I sent an email with a few questions and within minutes I received a response from an actual human … and quick resolution. The developer really stands behind the satisfaction promise. Very impressive.
