Description

This app is designed to work with Filament-enabled print Bibles. It is not a Bible app—it is a unique print + digital Bible experience.

Filament enhances your print Bible with the powerful capabilities of your iPhone or iPad. You get the comfortable reading experience a print Bible can offer along with instant access to more meaningful content than you’ll find in any one study Bible or devotional Bible. Native digital content like streaming audio, informative videos, and interactive maps are directly connected to your Bible reading experience in a way never before possible!

With your physical Bible open, use the Filament Bible app to simply scan the page you are reading with your device’s camera. Your iPhone or iPad recognizes the page and instantly connects you to content centered around that passage. You'll get access to in-depth study notes, profiles of key people mentioned on the page, articles about important themes, devotionals, streaming audio, videos, and interactive maps that will help you really get a feel for the world of the Bible.

Filament also includes the opportunity to build your daily Bible reading habit with reading plans, designed to give you a simple list of the pages you need to read to keep on track with your Bible reading goals, whether it is to read through the entire Bible or just to get a sense for what the Bible says about a key topic.

Our prayer is that Filament will be a faithful companion as you engage with God through the Bible!

Upgrade to Apple Pencil integration please

If Tyndall’s Filament App included integration with Apple Pencil (AP) the app would overtake the Bible app category IMO. I generally use Olive Tree Bible app but would prefer integration with AP which Olive Tree does not seem interested in doing. Whichever Bible app adds AP integration first would own the Bible app business. I expect with all the upgrades people want in future Filament updates I can see Tyndall charging for the app or like Olive Tree you would have to purchase resources either from the Tyndall store or pay a subscription fee for using app. I would pay for AP integration bc I an avid note taker, but not an avid typist. This app is very nice as is, but could be the cutting edge leader in near future.

Over played videos

I really like the concept that the filament app has, but am questioning the claim that it has 350+ videos. Are there legit 350+ different videos? Because I’m finding on numerous accounts that many of the videos will be reused in other books, such as seeing some of the same videos played in Genesis, Daniel and Revelation, and more often than not, just one video will be reused in each chapter od the same book. Are those repeated videos being counted as part of the 350?
I find this happens more often than not in the meatier books, the more touchy subject books, and it seems that the videos offered in these books are kind of dumbed down as to not upset or trigger someone who may or may not agree.
So many teachable moments to be touched on, I hope to see that more videos are offered in the future that actually coincide with the particular chapters of the book.

Great app, with room for improvement

I really like this app so far. The interactive maps and illustrations are great, and I’ve found many that are also in the NLT Illustrated Study Bible, which is what I was hoping for. My only concern is that the app seems limited. Simplicity is nice. However, I hope that future updates will be just that. Otherwise, there’d be a missed opportunity. The option to search for themes or maps instead of having to scroll through the chapters would great. The option for side by side comparison of the maps and illustrations would help as well. More quality updates would really push this app to its full potential.
