  • Works - but unusable without progress indicators, overwrite prompt.

    artulloss

One of the best things about FileZilla is being prompted when you’d like to overwrite files, whether that’s if the file is larger, changed more recently etc. This prompt doesn’t exist, nor is there any indication of file upload progress making this significantly worse than the normal FileZilla client.

    Developer Response

Thank you for your feedback! Actually, when using Finder, there should be a prompt if you're trying to overwrite a file. We’d like to investigate this further to understand why it may not be working as expected in your case. If you could provide more details on how to replicate the issue, it would be really helpful. Please feel free to reach out to us at info@filezillapro.com.As for the upload progress indicators we’re currently looking into what kind of stats and information we can collect from Finder to improve this experience.

  • It works perfectly! No clunky-ness: no gotchas! Buy this app!

I have looked for years to find a way to make my MacBook work as well as my Linux desktop to access and edit files vis Secure Shell (SSH) on my customer’s servers. The best I could find was always obtuse methods of modifying configurations or Ftp apps that downloaded the files which I thin edited, and finally uploaded. NO MORE! This Remote Drive app lets me edit directly on the server using Finder as if the remote server was a disk drive attached to my MacBook. EXACTLY WHAT IS NEEDED! Finally my expensive and pretty MacBook can work as well for server development as my free Linus workstation! Buy this app!

  • Fantastic app

    RichardDaniels

Filezilla is kind of annoying for SFTP because the files are really “in the cloud”: you have to download them to work with them, and reupload if you make any changes. This app basically makes an SFTP drive local: you can open a whole folder in VSCode, seamlessly edit files (no download-edit-reupload cycle), grep files (downloading them on demand), and everything else you get by having files locally instead of in the cloud — except the files are still in the cloud.

  • Great way to consistently access files in the cloud

    Phil Odence

What a relief to be able navigate gdrive directories just like a Mac folder. I find Google's web apps confusing; give me Mac folderss any time.. And FZPro provides the same consistent interface for all cloud services. I don't understand the negative reviews--maybe the older versions weren't as good.

  • Awesome app

    riseyoung

This new app from the well-established tool FileZilla is definitely a high-quality product! I hope it can support more protocols, such as SMB, NFS, and even rsync. Nevertheless, it is already good enough to use.

  • Great in Concept But… Subscription

    Nuké

I generally avoid subscription-based software.Subscriptions:• Over time, subscriptions tend to cost significantly more.• Can easily be forgotten, leading to unexpected charges long after the software is no longer in use.• One-time purchases often encourage developers to deliver strong value upfront, and at each update, and encourages enhancements from the developer rather than relying on recurring payments.I prefer models where I can pay once and own the product outright, like buying a car, buying a book, buying a desk, buying a house. Renting is only advantageous to the landlord…

    Developer Response

We’ve adopted the subscription model on the Apple App Store primarily because the majority of App Store customers prefer subscriptions, as they allow for lower upfront costs and more flexibility. This approach also aligns with Apple’s ecosystem and how many users expect to manage their software. That said, we recognize that not everyone prefers this model. For that reason, we're actively considering the option to offer multi-year and lifetime licenses through our own store, as we already do for some of our other products. We genuinely appreciate your feedback, and it will be taken into account as we continue to evaluate future offerings.

  • Very stable

    MariellaRocxs

I tried a few options to connect via FTP and this one by far has been the most stable.

  • App won’t launch.

    Dr_Crush

App doesn’t support the latest receipt validation requirements.

    Developer Response

Thank you for your review and for providing detailed information over email—it was extremely helpful and allowed us to identify the issue, which affects only very specific hardware (Mac Studio). A fix will be included in the next release. We truly appreciate your support and collaboration!

S3 is what really blew me away: local access to my S3 files, amazing!

  • Daily “app broken” messages

    SZuspan

Started off great, now it’s just constant app is corrupted or damaged, please delete and reinstall.

    Developer Response

The issue appears to be related to the operating system, as the error message is not from us. Please ensure you are using the latest version of macOS, and if the problem persists, consider reinstalling your operating system.

  • Free?

    cartographer2

Nice bait a switch. Does not even give you a chance to preview it without a subscription. Don’t call something free if you can’t run it free.

    Developer Response

We understand your frustration, and we want to clarify that it's Apple's policy that applications offering a free trial must be categorized under the "Free" section of the App Store. This isn't a decision we, as developers, make.To address your concern about the subscription, we want to make it clear that our app offers a free 7-day trial. You can use all of the app's features during this period. You can cancel the trial at any time before the 7 days are up to avoid being charged. To change this policy, the best approach would be to reach out to Apple directly. We are required to follow their guidelines, and unfortunately, we can't change how our app is categorized. We hope you'll reconsider your one-star review, as it negatively impacts our small team for a policy we are required to follow.

  • Why is this app subscription based model?

    TylerAustin7

Why is this app subscription based model?

    Developer Response

We shifted to a subscription-based model in response to customer feedback. Many users expressed that they preferred not to pay a large, upfront cost for a lifetime license. Instead, they wanted the flexibility of smaller, periodic payments that give them access to ongoing updates, support, and new features as the app evolves. The subscription model also allows us to continually invest in maintaining and improving the app, ensuring compatibility with the latest platforms and adding features based on user needs.
