Description

Do you take screenshots frequently? Then you will love FinalShot because this app will save you a lot of time! FinalShot lives in your menu bar and is always there for you when you need it! You can also launch FinalShot using customizable hot keys.

You can customize what happens after you take a screenshot. There are four available output options, and multiple can be active at the same time:
• Save in directory (customizable in FinalShot settings)
• Copy to clipboard (paste screenshots into other apps)
• Open in Preview (makes it easy to annotate screenshots using the Preview app)
• Show floating window (keep screenshots visible after capture)

You can screenshot your full screen or a specific area. To screenshot a specific area, simply select the top left corner and drag your cursor to the bottom right corner to outline the area to be captured. You can also recapture the last custom area you selected.

Floating windows help you keep information visible across different apps! They come in handy when compiling information or when comparing data from different sources. You can use the slider to adjust the transparency of the floating window.

FinalShot stores your screenshots as PNG or JPEG files and you can lower the quality if you require a lower file size. You can also choose between retina and non-retina resolution.

FinalShot can also copy un-selectable text and text from images using OCR (optical character recognition)!

Please read:
FinalShot features four output options: "Save in directory", "Copy to clipboard", "Open in Preview" and "Show floating window". Multiple output options can be active at the same time. Click on an option in the FinalShot menu to enable or disable it. At least one option must be active.

Tip: If you want to quickly enable only one output option while disabling all others, hold the option-key and select the output option you want to enable exclusively.

FinalShot needs permission to record your screen. Please follow the instructions in the app to enable this permission.

Great app

I realize the macOS will do this with key combination....HOWEVER this app allows me to mark up the screenshot and also turn it into a PDF. Easy and simple to use. However, I used to use an app called Ember that was a screenshot app that was a separate window, showing me visually ALL my screenshots and had a window where I could write comments....and the comments were searchable. But, after upgrading to Catalina, I cannot find an app that does that. Perhaps the author will consider this improvement. Still gave you Five Stars. Thanks!

Won't stop launching on login

This is a good screen capture app, but even though I have turned off the setting to “Launch FinalShot when you log in” a long time ago, it still launches every time the computer restarts (no the app was not open when it was shut down or restarted). It is also not in my account’s “Login Items”.

Is there a way to make it stop launching on login?

Dev got back to me asking me to uninstall and reinstall the app. Did that - made sure the "Start at Login" was not checked and it did not show in accounts/login items. It STILL starts every time I restart the computer (it was not running when I shut the computer down). I used Lingon X and it showed a Login Item in the Application/Contents path. I deleted that with Lingon....haven't tried a restart yet to see if that fixed it.

Can you email us? Hard to troubleshoot over App Store review. Our email is support@wegenerlabs.com

Yes, you can delete the FinalShot Launcher app that is inside of the app package (Contents > Library > LoginItems).

Love it, but has a recurring bug that is very bad!

Hello, this app would be 5 stars, but there has been a bug that has happened 3 times to me that makes my computer completely unsuable.

I believe it happens when I go to take a "portion of screen" screenshot and accidentally click twice without dragging the box anywhere. This will trigger an event where all mouse clicks are stuck in the rectangle selection phase, but no screenshots are taken and I have no mouse control over my computer. This has happened in work meetings which was very detrimental. I have had to manually reset my computer every time this happens because I don't know how to escape it.

Please reach out to me if you need any more information on the bug or if you have any suggestions to force escape the program if this happens again.

Developer Response ,

This has been fixed in the most recent version.
