Find My Bluetooth Pencil 4+

After trying the free version and not being able to locate my Apple Pencil even though my Bluetooth said it was connected I purchased the full version for $4.99. It never even identifies the pencil…all it does is say unknown. I thought by purchasing the full version it would at least identify what each of the Bluetooth signals were from. It only identified about five out of 20 devices. This app did nothing to help me find my pencil. The only reason I found it is by using my Bluetooth connection which shows that it was connected and looking for it. If you’re going to pay for an app to look for an Apple Pencil you think it would at least say “Apple Pencil“ when it finds a Bluetooth signal. I would not recommend this app!

I might have a misunderstanding about how Bluetooth connections work, but from what I can gather from a brief google search the typical maximum distance Bluetooth can connect is roughly 30 feet. Despite this apparent limitation, this app claims that it is finding “nearby” Bluetooth devices and listing their distance at 200 or 300 ft. So either my iPad has an unheard of Bluetooth strength or, more realistically, it’s just showing vague fake data in an attempt to get you to pay for the premium version. I’d rate zero stars if I could. I’m just grateful I never spent money on this.

This is probably my first review on any application. At first the app seemed useless while I was using it on my iPad and the only thing that it could find was my iPhone. After turning off my iPad and using the app on my iphone I was able to find my Apple Pencil!!!!🥳

How I found it : I already had a few spots in mind, but the Apple Pencil ended up being in the smallest crack of the couch.

How did the Apple help: The app helped me pinpoint where I could put my hands since I was not able to see in the space. Once I was within about .8 feet that’s where I stuck my hands.

Hands down on the iPad but hands up on the iPhone. I tried using a few other apps to do the same thing and they absolutely did nothing. Just make sure that your other device has a battery that you’re trying to find and with some patience this app should help you.
